April Cottage Cattery Licenced boarding cattery providing a "home from home" atmosphere for your feline friend. Large light and airy runs and heated sleeping areas.

April Cottage Cattery opened in April 2016 and Kevin and I run it together. We do not have any staff so there is always a continuity of experience and care for our guests. The cattery is situated to the side of our house so whether I am gardening, working in the office or mucking out the horses, there is always someone on site. We have had cats for over 30 years and also been involved with cat res

cue and re-homing, so we are not just a business, we genuinely do love cats and want to provide a "home from home" atmosphere for them during their stay. When Kevin and I designed our cattery we wanted to ensure that our feline guests would not feel confined in a cage for 2 weeks so we endeavoured to create a large, light and airy chalet with views to the outside and across the cattery as well as fully insulated and heated sleeping areas that are warm in winter but cool in summer. We also have chalets for the more nervous shy cats that require more peace and quiet. There are 4 extra large chalets that will cater for up to 5 cats (same household only), also some of our chalets have low level shelving for the older or very young cat making it easier for them to reach their beds (although bedding will also be put on the floor for them). Grooming and administering of medicine are free of charge. However if I am required to give injections I charge £1 a time. I didn't want to charge for this but it does take up extra time and not all cats are happy to just stand there quietly!
