Run by riders for riders, Hogholm Stables is conveniently located only 2½ miles from Kintore and Inverurie, and 15 miles from Aberdeen city centre. Sited in beautiful countryside with wonderful views of Bennachie and the rolling Garioch landscape, the yard offers easy access to all the main competition centres in North East Scotland. A BHS Approved Livery Yard since 2003, Hogholm is a secure yard

with the owners living on site. The yard is run with two principles in mind: safety and fun. Simple yard rules – available on request – ensure that everyone, whether two-legged or four-legged, enjoys their time at Hogholm. Every horse has its own spacious stable, with rubber matting, Haybar, tying points and rug rail, in purpose-built modern American barns. With stabling for 20 horses, including the owners’ horses, the yard is large enough to be sociable but small enough to be friendly. The excellent riding facilities – 63x20m indoor school with mirrors, 60x20m floodlit outdoor arena with mirrors, 50x45m outdoor sand school and 18m round pen - are complemented by varied hacking and field riding. As Hogholm does not hold competitions, there is open access to all facilities within yard hours (0730-2130). Livery clients have access to a hot water washbay, solarium, free lorry/trailer parking, secure tackrooms, on-site saddle-fitting and first aiders.

There's also a 60x20m floodlit outdoor arena, 50x40m sandschool, 18m round pen, hot water washbay, solarium, canter track and free lorry/trailer parking. Part-time groom’s job available at Hogholm Farm Stables AB51 0UQ, usual yard duties, working alongside a colleague on Sundays 0800-1200/1300-1530 or 0830-1200/1300-1600. More hours could be available on other days to cover holidays. Transport required as we’re 2.5 miles from the nearest bus stop.
We’re looking for a cheerful, reliable person. Happy to give training on areas you might not have experience of, or be rusty at, but you must have experience of handling large horses.
