DENTAL OFFER

Horses teeth continuously erupt and can develop into sharp points which cut into the soft tissues. This may cause resentment to the bit, pain when eating, but more often than not the horse shows no sign of pain.

We recommend that you have your horses mouth examined at least once a year.

Special offer for routine rasps at clinic only £60 including sedation from now until the 30th September 2025

Laminitis is a painful and potentially life-threatening condition affecting a horse's hooves. Spring and Summer, especially when weather conditions encourage rapid grass growth, are our highest risk times of year for laminitis. It is important to check your horse daily to ensure they are in good health and keeping an eye out for any of these clinical signs can help to catch laminitis early.

Here are some clinical signs to look out for:

🔹 Reluctance to move or walk, especially on hard ground
🔹 Shifting weight between feet or “leaning back” to relieve pressure
🔹 Warm hooves, particularly at the front
🔹 Strong or bounding digital pulse near the fetlock
🔹 Short, shuffling gait
🔹 Lying down more often than usual
🔹 Visible pain or discomfort when turning

If you see any of these signs please don't hesitate to contact the office.
