Harvest mites awareness 💜

🐾 Is your dog constantly scratching or nibbling at their paws?

Harvest mites - also known as chiggers - might be to blame!
These tiny orange pests are active from August to November and are commonly picked up during walks in rural areas. You might spot them as orange dots or dust, especially between your dog’s toes or on their lower legs.

While harvest mites aren’t usually serious, they can cause intense itching and lead to secondary infections if left untreated. They can also affect cats and even humans.
If your pup seems uncomfortable, a quick visit to the vet can help with treatment and prevention, so those paws can rest easy 🐶

Let’s see your beautiful black cats! 📸💜

Today is ! 🖤

We all love the mysterious moggies, but as all black cat owners probably know, they're not the easiest pet to photograph due to their dark coats and ability to blend into the background.

To celebrate today, we're sharing some tips for finding your feline's best angle 📸

Have you got any stunning photos of your black cats? Share them in the comments 🐱

[Visual description: An infographic with tips on how to take good photos of your black cat or other pet. The tips include: Taking photos with a contrasting background, using soft, diffuse lighting instead of bright lights or a flash, bonding with pets using toys and treats for interesting angles, playing around with your camera to find the most flattering settings, waiting until your pet is relaxed for the best photos, and avoiding zooming in as it can lower the photo quality.]

Make sure you are aware of the signs of heatstroke 🥵💜

With temperatures soaring in parts of the UK this week, please remember that a 'smiling' dog is not always a happy one.

In fact, what looks like a grin (excessive panting and open-mouthed expressions) could be a sign that your dog is experiencing heatstroke and struggling to cool down 🥵
