🚨 Kennel Cough Outbreak in Huddersfield 🚨

We’re currently seeing a rise in Kennel Cough cases – a highly contagious condition that causes a harsh, hacking cough in dogs. Many owners describe it as sounding like their dog has something stuck in their throat.

🐾 Symptoms:
Coughing, reverse sneezing, retching, and foamy mucus (often mistaken for vomiting). Some dogs may have a fever or seem under the weather, though many remain lively and energetic.

🌬️ How it spreads:
Kennel cough spreads easily through social contact – on walks, at the groomers, kennels, or anywhere dogs mix closely.

💉 Prevention:
We recommend an annual kennel cough vaccination. If your dog hasn’t had one in the last 12 months, now’s a good time to book in. The vaccine we now use is given by mouth (orally), rather than up the nose, making it easier for most dogs to tolerate.

❗Important:
If your dog is showing signs of coughing, please keep them away from other dogs. If you have an appointment and we suspect kennel cough, you’ll be asked to wait outside the practice to help prevent spread to other patients.

Today, I've had to say a sad farewell to Bramble.

She has been the most special and kind dog I've ever known.

From coming to work with my at my hair salon from 8 weeks old to joining on the dog walks for my next venture Brambles Dog Walking, we've rarely had to spend the day apart.

She will be so missed, and I will always treasure the time we had together, I could not have asked for a better companion, and I honestly dont think I'd be here today without her.

What a first week back. After a false start on Monday because of the snow, I made it out on Tuesday to whoever I could make it to. Sorry again if I couldn't reach you this week.

We've had a lot of fun in the snow this week, the dogs have been very excited and had a great time charging about and of course eating said snow.
