January round up!

In January I started working with the lovely Otis ( who I've not got a photo of yet 😱🙈) together me and his owner have been working with him to help manage his over excitement when he sees another dog. Otis has come so far in just 4 sessions! On our last session we even managed to have Otis sat in the dog park while 4 off lead dogs were around him!

We have been doing focus and positive reinforcement training with him. It has been difficult as he is quite stubborn (he is a frenchie and anyone with any type of bull breeds knows how stubborn they can be) but hes definitely making good, steady progress. I am very excited to see how he progresses

December round up part 2!
During December I also worked with a 7 month old Mini Cockapoo Mable. Mable needed some help learning how to play with other dogs. She was very nervous and often cried when approached by other dogs. To tackle this issue I made sure to start by only introducing her to other calm dogs. This helped build her confidence and now even if there is a more boisterous dog Mable has the skills to feel safe and confident while out on her walks.

Mable is also the sister to Kai. A joint issue that I helped to resolve was Mable jumping and trying to initiate play with Kai on a walk when he wasn't ready. This issue caused Kai to become irritated and overwhelmed by Mable and often resulted in him snapping at her. To tackle this issue I started by doing some focus training with Mable and teaching her that it is more fun to play with me than to harass her brother. I also used a ball with a squeaker in it to help regain her focus and to help recall her if she was being too much for Kai.

Both dogs are now much more comfortable and confident on there walks and are even happy to play with one another. Well done Kai and Mable

December round up!
During December I worked with reactive Cavapoo Kai to help him gain confidence while out on his walks. We did lots of focus and positive association training to help him learn that he didn't need to react to his triggers. Kai is now much more relaxed and engaged on his walks, making walking him a much more enjoyable experience for him and his owners. Well done Kai!

I'm finally back!

After nearly 3 years of ill health after my crash. I am back part time offering limited solo dogs walks, behaviour/training sessions and drop in/over night visits.
