Hi, this is just a general shout out really if you could assist? There used to be a bloke that used to sell eggs on Sheffield Road outside the allotments & I haven’t seen him for a while. Does anyone know if he stills sells them? Or if not, is there anyone providing local produce for chicken/duck eggs?

Update

WEST STREET, HOYLAND UPDATE

Speed humps are due to be installed on the recently resurfaced West Street in Hoyland.

Works will start on consecutive Sundays during September.

Temporary road closures will be in place.

White lines will be repainted when these humps are installed..

So bit of a long shot, but wanting to reach out and ask if the members of the curling club at hoyland leisure centre would consider going back to their original time at 10am on the friday.
Basically, me n my mum play badminton then, we have done all year, we had to stop during summer holiday cause the kids got the hall instead, so we were looking forward to playing again finally but now you have taken our place too. My mum lives other end of High Green so that, plus traffic means waking up at 6.30 which just won't happen during winter and you have the entire hall until 2pm. Fridays is her one day off, and it took me years to finally persuade her to play with me for some fun fitness.
Now we can't play at all, so its the only reason im reaching out. We always let you guys come in and setup early even though its distracting and loud.
I only pay membership for badminton and im always having to reschedule for their other hall bookings, so this is really upsetting.
Im sure other people will chime in with their 2 cence, but worth a shot reaching out if any members see this and can ask if it prevents anyone from playing one hour later, like before...

🇬🇧 Flags Return to Hoyland 🇬🇧

Last night, Fearnley Road saw the return of flags to Hoyland, with the majority of lamp posts now proudly decorated.

Speaking to the lads who put them up, they said they’d had plenty of positive support – from passers-by sharing encouraging words, to cars honking horns and waving as they went past.

👉 They also stressed this isn’t about politics, racism, or any far-right agenda. For them, it’s simply about patriotism, community spirit, and showing pride in where we live.
