Happy World Veterinary Day to all our wonderful colleagues, clients and patients โค๏ธ
When you ask AI what veterinary medicine is, this is the response:
Veterinary medicine is the branch of medicine focused on preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases, disorders, and injuries in all animal species, including domesticated pets, livestock, and wildlife.

We like to think it is so much more. It is teaching a young child how to care for their very first pet, making sure your new pup is vaccinated so protected from diseases, holding your hand whilst you say goodbye to your beloved companion, or conducting life saving surgery so you have your friend back home.
From the colleague answering your call, to the vet diagnosing your pet, it takes a team to create a vet practice, but it takes a special one to know your animals as family ๐Ÿ’•

With all the negativity around veterinary at the moment, we want to shine a light on all the wonderful differences, big and small, that we make โค๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿšจ Important update on pet travel to the EU ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

Important new travel legislation has been released on the 17th April 2026

We appreciate this may cause worry for some of our clients so this legislation has been summarised below.

From 22 April 2026, new EU rules will apply to the nonโ€‘commercial movement of
dogs, cats and ferrets entering the EU from third countries such as Great Britain
(GB). Such as taking your pet on holiday. โ˜€๏ธ โ˜€๏ธ

If you are a resident of Great Britain and your pet has an EU passport (issued in an EU member state or Northern Ireland), from 22nd April 2026 this passport will no longer be valid documentation for travel and you will require an Animal Health Certificate.

This includes passports issued before the 22nd April 2026.

EU pet passports may only be issued to owners whose main residence is within the European Union.

GB residents travelling to the EU with a pet dog, cat or ferret will need to obtain an
Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for travel from 22 April 2026

Return travel to Great Britain remains unchanged.

This is government legislation and is not set by your Veterinarians.

If you are planning to travel with your pet please check to see the requirements for your destination. An animal health certificate is issued up to 10 days before travel so please ensure you book this in advance.

If you have any queries please contact the team.
