Pike Moor Vets Pike Moor Vets is an independent small animal veterinary practice serving parts of the Bolton, Wigan and Chorley districts.

We have two surgeries, one in Horwich and one in Westhoughton. The surgery has grown steadily over that last 30 years, constantly developing and improving the diagnostic and treatment facilities we can offer to our patients and clients. Care is provided by qualified Veterinary Surgeons, qualified Veterinary Nurses and dedicated and experienced support staff at two surgeries, one in Horwich and one

in Westhoughton. The surgery offers a wide range of diagnostic, treatment and surgical facilities in addition to annual health checks and vaccines, preventative health care advice, neutering and microchip implantation. Free nurse clinics are available for weight clinics, puppy clinics and kitten clinics. We can also offer advice on a range of behavioural and anxiety problems suffered by domestic pets.

Notice to all clients we will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, but rest assured our new service Vidivet will be available 24 hours a day for any worries you may have (please see pinned post at the top of our page for further information).
Out of hours cover continues to be provided by PetMedics.

You may have seen a new face around the practice recently, we have been joined by Solomon, a fourth year veterinary student from the Royal Veterinary College, who is seeing practice with us as part of his training.
We have been so impressed by his enthusiasm, helpfulness and positive attitude.
If you see Solomon about the practice please make sure to say hi!

A young, deceased, female cat has sadly been brought into the surgery.
She was found on Scott Lane, Aspull, outside the industrial estate. She is not chipped.

On Saturday 30th August our clinic will be running from our Horwich branch, not Westhoughton as usual, due to maintenance works.

If you have an appointment on that day, it will be at Horwich. We will still be open from 8.30-12.30, at HORWICH ONLY

✨✨ The BIGGEST congratulations ✨✨

Those of you who visit us regularly may have noticed Shannon has had a uniform change! This is because, we are incredibly proud to announce, she is now a Registered Veterinary Nurse, having passed all her exams and qualifying as a nurse, meaning she can now wear her greens with pride! 💚💚💚
Shannon trained as a student at Pike Moor Vets and we are even happier to announce she will be remaining with us in her new role as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. 🎉
Nurses have to go through rigorous training and examining to become qualified and we couldn't be more proud of the hard work Shannon put in to reach graduation, and to see it all pay off.

At Pike Moor Vets our clients and their pets are at the heart of everything we do, so when the opportunity arose to partner with Vidivet to allow clients a 24 hour advice service, we went for it!
This is a service we pay for to allow our clients to use the service COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE.
As an independent practice we are proud of the service we provide and this gives us the opportunity to make sure a vet is there whenever you might need one.

We know that over 90% of concerns that pet owners have, when we are closed, don't need an out of hours appointment. So what better than having the support of a vet at your fingertips with unlimited messages! We see so much value in this service that we pay for it so that you don't have to!

This does not replace out out of hours cover and this will continue to be provided by Petmedics, but it means for those less urgent niggles, you can use Vidivet for free.
