This page is quite obviously to promote the cattery but there are only so many things that you can say about a small boarding cattery on a day to day basis so to keep the page in the newsfeeds as well as posting my own stuff I am shamelessly pilfering anything and everything 'cat' from the internet and from other peoples wall's!! If I have nicked from yours and you dont like it please say so and I

will remove the offending item otherwise please feel free to share any of the posts on here to your owm wall and please encourage your friends to like this page.

Update on the landline issue: our old number (as seen on the website) has been reinstated :)

10/03/2022

We are delighted to announce that after a 3 week delay, our landline has been reinstated. However, our old number is still down so until further notice, we have a temporary number of 01403 891548. Hopefully, the old number will be reinstated in a few days, but for now, if you try calling it and it doesn't work, use the temporary one

We are delighted to tell you all that despite the ferocity of Eunice's wrath on Friday as well as this past weekend's high winds, the cattery survived completely unscathed and with the recent stormy weather going dormant for a while now, all half term bookings will still be going ahead. However, the storm did unfortunately knock out our landline which possibly won't be reinstated until the middle of this week. So if you have any bookings you wish to make, please contact us via mobile number or email.

With many Plan B rules being brought to an end this week, including rules regarding isolation, it's likely that a lot of people will be rushing to book holidays for February half term (especially those eager to use what's left of the skiing season). Whatever you're doing then, don't wait until last minute to book!

01/01/2022

Side note: our landline phone is currently out of order. Our alternative mobile number and email address are found on the website. We hope the problem should be fixed before the end of the week

Happy New Year to all of our customers! We survived another year plagued with Covid news and are hopeful that by Easter, the threat of lockdowns and/or further restrictions will be a thing of the past and we can confidently take on all holiday bookings as usual.

Microchip your cats or pay £500 fine, owners warned under new rules

17/09/2021

Today, the government announced big changes to their travel rules, including scrapping the traffic light system and introducing simpler testing. With that happening, chances are a lot of people will probably be rushing to book holidays for October half term, meaning space at the cattery could very quickly disappear. So if you're planning a trip either within the UK or outside the UK, don't wait until last minute to book here!

LEO (ORANGE & WHITE) & COCO (TORTIE)
These two cats have previously stayed in the cattery while their owner was admitted to hospital. Sadly, they passed away recently and no one in the family is able to take them on. So they are boarding here while the family and I try to find them a new home.

Leo and Coco are believed to be aged around 12 or 13 years (possibly older) so a childless family would be preferable (or at least a family with older children). They are very timid at first with strangers and might take some time to warm up. But the owner's son has mentioned visits where Coco at least has after a while come up to him and sat on his lap so with time, space and patience, they should gradually become more confident.

Although neighborhood cats have previously wound them up, Leo and Coco haven't shown any aggression of their own towards other cats, but it might be a good idea to watch their behaviour to start with. At their old home, they have had a mostly Sheba and Purina based diet, but at the cattery they have also eaten Whiskas, Felix and Go Cat without any issues. They also apparently like to be fed in different areas of a room.

Having lived together for much of their lives, the owner's family would prefer that they be adopted together, but if needs be, they can be adopted separately.

Items such as food and water bowls and litter boxes from their old home have been provided. Anything that isn't wanted will be used here instead.

If you can offer them a calm, quiet and stress free home for their twilight years, please contact the cattery or the owner's son on the following details:
01403891930/07799074712/[email protected] (the cattery)
07989448227/[email protected] (Tim Ansell, the owner's son)

Today, the government unveiled their ''green list'' of countries that don't require quarantine upon return. With that in mind, space in the cattery could very quickly run out for the summer period so if you're planning a holiday either in the UK or abroad, don't wait until last minute.

One quick note: should you be willing to take a chance and book a holiday in a ''red list'' or ''amber list'' country which requires quarantining upon return, you can either arrange for a friend or relative to collect your cat or we will return your cat personally. Whatever option you choose, please do let us know in advance

Today, Boris Johnson announced the latest easing of lockdown restrictions (due to happen next Monday). It includes the reopening of ''self contained holiday accommodation'' alongside hairdressers and pub gardens. With this in mind, the cattery will warmly welcome any holiday bookings you may have (be they short trips or long ones) as well as any emergencies that may pop up (house moves, home improvements, etc.) But with the news having just been announced, it could mean space will fill up in next to no time so don't wait until last minute!

Today, Boris Johnson announced his roadmap for the gradual easing of lockdown. With holidays still off the cards for at least a couple of months, the cattery will continue to offer space for all emergencies and essential trips, be they business meetings, house moves, home improvements or even visiting/caring for sick relatives. Prices will remain the same for the present time.
