Found this little one out on one of my dog walks this morning. Poor little thing had a puncture wound in its side and was missing a large portion of its tail (which looks like it's been gone for a while). The marks on my white T-Shirt are Slow Worm poo, for anyone that's interested to know what looks like 😂😂😂 honestly, so ungrateful for the help 🤣

I managed to get hold of Nathan at Horsham wildlife rescue and he's picked it up from the lovely team at Arthur Lodge Vets for me.

Yesterday I managed to remove seven ticks from one of my clients dogs. What will tomorrow bring?!? 🤣

I always feel incredibly lucky to be in a position to help, or know someone who can help, when it comes to the welfare of our pets and wildlife.

My goodness, I love this dog. Nothing beats a nice cooling drink and shower after a warm morning walk.

This gorgeous boy’s owner, Sarah, sadly passed away at the end of 2025. Her partner, Steve, has continued to care for him and treats him as one of his own. Though they have both suffered great sadness and loss, I can say firsthand that there is so much love shared between these two. It’s such a beautiful companionship.

Please everyone, stay safe in this heat... the cooler weather is coming!

It’s certainly hot outside at the moment!

As always, Southwater Pet Services will be sticking to veterinary guidance. Unfortunately, this means a lot of afternoon let-outs instead of the usual walks.

If I haven’t already been in touch regarding walks towards the end of the week, it’s because I’m trying to wait for any last-minute changes in the forecast before having to disappoint some of you.

As always, I will NEVER do anything to put your dog at risk.

It’s taken 9½ years of waiting and wanting to do this, but I can finally say that today, I walked a full marathon distance!

Everything lined up perfectly. I had a huge amount of work, lots of fit dogs wanting to walk and, even though I’m ending the day incredibly sore and in quite a bit of pain — especially doing the whole thing with a grade 2 calf tear — I’m absolutely over the moon! I’m going to sleep well tonight!

Just a reminder that Southwater Pet Services is shut tomorrow afternoon for dog walking, as I’m attending a celebration of life, but will be back to normal from Tuesday.

Happy 100th Birthday to one of my biggest inspirations for working with animals!

If everyone were as passionate as Sir David Attenborough about the planet and its inhabitants, global warming and extinction wouldn’t be such major issues.

Congratulations! What an achievement!
