Come and meet a variety of birds of prey in a beautiful serene garden setting. We have our character birds including Kali the White tail sea Eagle and Mr Huxley Himself as well as our large flying team! Watch our flying displays at 12pm and 2pm (weather permitting) and meet a bird at 12.30pm and 2.30pm. We run special experience days including: raptor days, raptor and owl afternoons, hawk walks. A
lso the always popular Barn Owl experience where you can have a session flying and handling our friendly and cute Owl Casper.

Did you know owls can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees around and nearly upside down? 😱
They can do this as they have 14 neck vertebrae (humans have just seven!). This extreme flexibility helps owls with maximise preening, vision and flight. 🦉

Baby meerkats! 🥺 Our little meerkats have quickly learnt from the others how to get at those treats we pop in the bottles for them! By putting them in the bottles it adds to their enrichment as they have to work get those mealworms out! 😍

A plea to help and spread the word for our white-tailed sea eagle, Kali. We’ve a go fund me for her vets bills as she has injured her back toe on her right foot. 😔
We initially splinted the toe at the vet's for the past 3 weeks, but unfortunately, it hasn't healed properly and now requires surgery. Kali is a valuable member of our center, as she helps convey the conservation message of these eagles and allows us to educate people about their reintroduction into the UK. 🦅

Back in 2021 Huxley’s was taken over by Luke, following in footsteps of the amazing Julian Ford after 30 years of love and passion he put into Huxley’s. 🥰
However, it has very much remained the same over those years, despite Luke doing much needed repairs himself, it desperately needs urgent attention and a makeover! 🔧
Huxley’s is a NOT FOR PROFIT organisation, relying on amazing volunteers who give up their time out of love and passion for the amazing animals we have here! 🦅
We are looking to raise funds to enhance our CCTV system (to keep our birds safe but to also give you a live experience online to our birds) revamp and enhance their enclosures, replace furniture around the site and overall make it a fun, vibrant and unique experience. 🤩
However, we can’t do this without your help, we know times are tough, so if you can spare just simply £1 or £2 please donate, if you can’t, a share will help us too! 🙏.

A #throwbackthursday for you today looking back to Topaz as an owlet in December 2021 - we can say now ‘haven’t you grown!’ 🤣 Baby owls are typically unable to fly but do leave the nest to strengthen their wings. They climb and jump on branches and rocks in a process called ‘branching’ which is where the term ‘branching out’ comes from! 🦉
Well someone decided to be very vocal and do their own commentary for the display before eventually flying for everyone! 🤣🦉

Drum roll please, we’ve very exciting news here at Huxley’s Birds Of Prey Centre in Horsham! 🥁 We’ve 9 new residents who are settling into their new enclosure nicely…meet the Huxley’s Meerkats! 🤩 They are very friendly and the meerkats will usually come and sit by the viewing bubbles in their enclosure, so please do come and see them! 🥰
