Here's a handy product to help zone off a safe part of your home for a recovering dog: the Dog-G8. I just came across this impressive gate system when, working as The Rehab Vet, I met this lovely Cockerpoo, 'Bear', for a physiotherapy assessment.
We're always trying to keep recovering dogs safe by blocking off access to stairs, furniture that they might jump on, and slick floors. This sytem should work well for any dog that respects stairgate-style barriers.
So, what looks special about this gate system?
🐶It's adaptable to different doorway sizes because it concertinas in or out to fit different widths. And they do an extra-wide version too...useful for open plan spaces or to put across patio doors.
🐶It fits to the door frame or stairway with unobtrusive screw fixings. So it's not such a big deal to put this up for just a few weeks of recovery.
🐶The whole gate can be lifted out and moved very easily. So, if you wish, you could remove the gate at a moment's notice, or block off a different doorway at different times of the day, e.g. you might decide to leave your door open to the garden/yard on a sunny day, but to place the G8 barrier temporarily across this to stop your dog running out.
🐶The gate can be folded right down for storage or travel. People even use them in campervans and caravans.
