dog grooming equipment is PAT tested and passed by a qualified electrician. A-nita Pooch endeavours to ensure your pooch enjoys their grooming session with me. Just a few useful tips to help our furry friends enjoy their experience before their booked appointment, if you can kindly assist with the following: -

Please encourage your dog to take a natural toilet break before their appointment. If your dog has received flea treatment recently, please allow at least 48 hours before any grooming session. I would be very grateful for 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel your appointment, this will give me an opportunity to offer your appointment to another dog currently on the waiting list. A-nita Pooch looks forward to grooming your dog.

⚠️ HEATSTOKE KILLS DOGS ⚠️

It doesn’t always have to be ‘hot’ for an animal to develop heatstroke. Exercising excessively in warm weather, or being left in a warm or humid environment that is poorly ventilated can cause animals to quickly overheat.

Avoidance is always best, but it’s important to know the signs of heatstroke so that you can treat your dog appropriately and know when to seek veterinary attention should they be unfortunate enough to suffer from it.

If you are concerned that your pet is overheating, you should act immediately, as heatstroke can rapidly become a life-threatening emergency; We recommend to “cool first, transport second” as the immediate first aid response for dogs with heatstroke. Owners should also seek veterinary advice as soon as possible.

One of Mother Nature’s wonderful creatures and therefore to be celebrated, though a potential danger to our dogs.

The only venomous snake in the UK is the adder. Symptoms of a bite would include swelling at bite site, lethargy, drooling, vomiting, diarrhoea and pale gums.

Keep the dog calm and quiet and call your vet for advice. 🐍

This is why it’s important to regularly check your pet’s mouth and to also keep up a good dental hygiene schedule - maintaining your pet’s oral health is the best way to prevent the development of gum disease.
