It's a great time for a spring clean - but how safe are our cleaning products for dogs, other pets, and ourselves?

You might not realize how many common household products release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene. These compounds can linger indoors for hours, sometimes even days. Over time, chronic exposure, even at low levels, can accumulate in your pet’s tissues, leading to inflammation, oxidative stress, and DNA damage. Link to my article in the comments ⬇️.

Correct Canine CPR Guidelines

Just a quick post on CPR Guidelines as I am seeing outdated methods are still being taught all over the place

The Recover Guidelines are the Veterinary standard in Canine CPR

The quick points that are often taught incorrectly are

*You do not start with breathing

•Start with 30 Compressions ( not 15 , that's very outdated, 2012 actually )

• Depending on size and shape of dog, there are 4 types of Compressions

• Two rescue breaths between the 30 Compressions

• Legs away from you when doing compressions

•You can do compressions with the dog on the left or right, there is no data available that says you have to have the dog on the right side

This might surprise you but currently there is no evidence for a lateral 😱

At the moment. So do the compressions in whatever lateral you find them and remember prompt CPR is essential 👍🏻
