This is Rio found tied up and thrown into a skip! I have no words allowed on here to describe how I feel about whoever did this. Luckily for Rio he was found in time and is now safe with Lincs Dobermann Rescue.

This week has been incredibly tough. Each day seems to have brought something new, and we’ve been stretched in every direction trying to keep up.

On Wednesday evening, we received a call about a dog named Rio, he had been found tied up in a skip. There really are no words to describe how that made us feel.

When he was discovered, Rio was still alive — thankfully — but we don’t know how long he had been there. What we do know is heartbreaking. He is suffering from severe pressure sores from lying on hard concrete for prolonged periods, is clearly malnourished, and is carrying the invisible scars of everything he’s endured. It’s neglect on a level that is simply unforgivable.

There is a much longer and more complex story behind Rio, but for now, what matters is that he’s safe. He has seen a vet, and today he begins his journey with us.

At just 22 months old and weighing only 22kg, Rio has a long road ahead. But we’ve walked this road before; with Banjo, and with Sid (formerly Daffy). We know what it takes, and we won’t give up on him.

Still, it doesn’t make it any easier to see. How a happy, healthy puppy can end up in this state is beyond comprehension. It’s devastating.

Right now, there’s no time to stop and process; we’re pulling together, alongside our incredible supporters and volunteers, to give Rio the care he desperately needs. We cannot thank you enough for standing with us, especially during weeks like this.

So this is Rio. Starving, neglected, and in need of help.

We’re so sorry to ask again, but if you have anything you can spare before payday, it would mean the world to Rio, and to a very tired Rehoming Team who are determined to give him a second chance.
