Update 22/3 - Brain is fried!! So, tumour histology is that it’s a T2 (bigger than they originally thought) Stage 3, growing faster than they anticipated. Armpit now completely clear, definitely that one lymph node, potentially evidence in a couple of others, but clear of all cancer now. Lumpectomy is on the cusp of the clear margin and if we were in America is would be classed as clear but here they like a slightly bigger (talking millimetres) so she would like to do the slightly bigger op!! Just to be sure or as sure as can be that she got everything. Being referred to oncology for chemotherapy but that could be a month to see oncologist and another 2 weeks before starting treatment. Won’t know treatment schedule until I meet with them. So not sure if surgery will be before or after, but looking at it I’m going to be in some form of treatment or recovery up until November/December!
Most of you already know what’s going on but just an update to say I had a breast cancer tumour removed alongside all my lymph nodes in that armpit as one that was biopsied had breast cancer in it. A very long day of waiting to go down (I’m not a patient person)! But I believe it went well, the care received was excellent and I’m now recovering at home. Drain in that armpit till it’s producing less fluid, more scans next week and see consultant again on 22/3. An extremely stressful and emotional time but the support and care I’ve received so far has been overwhelming. 🥰
