Is this the cutest thing ever? We think so! 😍

George, who's party we attended last weekend, fell in love with our Hermann's Tortoise, Ethel, and now he has his own collection of Ethel's and has made them their own home! 🥹

While we'd normally say to not keep tortoises together, we think these ones will get along just fine! 🤣

We LOVE the impact meeting and interacting with our animals has on the children (and adults!) we meet, so this absolutely melted our hearts. Definitely a reptile enthusiast in the making! 🐢

Yesterday we took a trip out to Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Eagle & Vulture Park, Knutsford and all we can say is WOW! 🦅

We had the best time possible getting up close to some absolutely beautiful birds, seeing stunning flying displays and chatting with the amazing team. We learnt so much about some of the birds they have in their care, including just how important vulture conservation really is.
We honestly can't recommend a visit enough. The level of care, knowledge and passion from the team there is unmatched.

Their 3pm flying display is 100% not to be missed! We had over 30 birds of different species flying over us, showing us how they all work together in nature and how they benefit each other, from storks and egrets, to vultures and kites, it was an experience like no other, and not something we'll ever forget! 🦅

We absolutely love the work the team does over in Africa, helping the vultures (did you know that African species of vultures are the fastest declining animals in history, and they could all be extinct in the wild within the next 5 years?!💔) so we're going to be selling "Save the vulture" wristbands on Gauntlets behalf, with 100% of money taken going to them to help them with their mission. They'll be available at any of our public events for a minimum donation of £1.

‼️Volunteer opportunity‼️

Have you ever wanted to work with rescued, exotic animals, educating the public about them and their species? 😁

We are potentially looking to add another member to the team. This year has been our busiest yet and as there are only 2 of us, we can't be everywhere, as much as we'd like to be 😂

The ideal person would:

🕷 Be over 18 (for insurance purposes)

🕷 Have experience with animals (desirable but not essential as full training will be given to any successful applicant). You must be confident with handling animals though.

🕷 Confident in speaking to groups of children and adults, both large and small as well as those with additional needs.

🕷 Have midweek availability. We are covered mostly for weekends but the new role would be needed primarily for midweek shows.

🕷 A reasonable level of physical fitness. Some shows are several hours long and involve long periods on your feet. We would also require help with things like setting up the gazebo.

🕷 Be willing to learn all about our animals and their species. We will help as much as you need with this.

🕷 Have own transport. Ideally something fairly large in case you are needed to transport the animals.

🕷 While this is primarily a voluntary position, if possible we will always try and pay you for your time, particularly if you have helped transport the animals. However due to the nature of some of our events, we cannot always guarantee a wage. It is NOT a full time position but will operate on an "as and when" basis. An understanding of this situation is a must.

We attend events of all kinds but some are that little bit more meaningful. Bloomers Wellbeing CIC are a new organisation that aim to support young people's mental health. This is a cause that is hugely close to our hearts and so we will be doing everything we can to help them, starting with an appearance at their festival, Bloomfest 25, in September. We're so excited to be involved in such an incredible event 😁

We had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday helping to celebrate George and Max's birthdays! 🦎

What an amazing group of kids, who were all super brave meeting all of the animals and asked some brilliant questions! And we think some of the adults may have enjoyed meeting the animals even more than the kids! 😆
