Dog and Bowen

Dog and Bowen Canine Bowen Therapy is a gentle, relaxing, effective approach to treating your dog's aches, pains,

Canine Bowen Technique is a very gentle, subtle and relaxing hands-on remedial therapy which aims to boost the body’s natural healing capability. it enables relaxation and may promote healing, pain relief and general rebalancing. Treatment involves using fingers and thumbs on precise points on the dog’s body and applying gentle rolling movement over muscle and soft tissue. These gentle yet powerfu

l moves are combined with short breaks to allow the body to process the moves and start the process of self-healing / rebalancing. The Bowen Technique is so gentle that it is suitable for dogs of all ages, from young pups to the elderly and infirm. The therapy is holistic and therefore treats the dog as a whole and not just a specific condition. It can have a profound impact on all manner of physical problems, e.g. chronic or acute aches and pains and also where there is stress and tension.

Please do not give your dogs raw hide treats at any time. It’s not worth the risk.

Please share. These dogs need our help to find the right new home. Thx

Here at Wonky Pets our aim is to find wonderful homes for the animals we have in our care. All potential homes will under go a home check so please bare this in mind when applying for one of our animals. We also ask that all resident dogs are neutered (unless due to a genuine medical reason).

All of our dogs will be vet checked, vaccinated, micro chipped and spayed/neutered, along with any other medical issues addressed before rehoming. We ask for a rehoming donation of between £195 -£350 per dog (unless otherwise stated) which is non-refundable, which will then be used to help save the lives of others.

Our dogs are assessed whilst in their foster home and we will of course pass on all information we are aware of about the dog to potential new owners, their homing write ups are based on the information we find whilst they are with us. We cannot be held responsible for any behaviours displayed by a dog in its new home/environment and adopters should be mindful that an animal takes time to settle in and may well display issues that had not previously been seen during his/her time at the rescue. Unfortunately we haven't got a crystal ball and cannot predict will happen in the future but we do fully assess to the best of our ability.

Some of our dogs were broken before coming to us, some abandoned in the stray pound, others have been luckier and have found themselves here because of a change in circumstance. But all our dogs have one thing in common, they all deserve to be in their very own forever home. They deserve to be happy, safe and loved. Could you offer one of these beautiful babies a loving home? If you think you can, please get in touch by emailing us at [email protected].

Due to the number of people reserving dogs only to let us and them down at the last minute, with immediate effect if you wish to reserve one of our dogs pending homecheck we will ask for a £50 non refundable donation (it will of course be refunded to you if we decline your home offer upon completion of your homecheck)

Is your dog getting enough sleep? 💤
Dogs require a vast amount of sleep during the day. Young and old up to around 18 hours in a 24 hour period.
Chronic sleep deprivation will impact your dog in the same way as it impacts us.
If you are home a lot and your dog always likes to keep one eye open for fear of missing out, your dog may not be getting adequate sleep during the day. For some dogs who sleep when left alone, purposefully leaving the house so that your dog gets a decent uninterrupted daytime nap can do wonders for their emotional health.
Owners are often delighted when their dog returns from daycare exhausted, but this is normally not a positive sign. If your dog is getting appropriate rest in their daycare setting, they should behave no differently in the evenings than they do on any other day. Daycares should be actively encouraging periods of rest throughout the day, for the welfare of the dogs in their care.
NB. If you are unsure whether your dog sleeps when left alone, video them on a few separate occasions to get an accurate representation of their behaviour when left alone.
