To all my clients. If you are looking for a pet sitter when you go away, you can’t go wrong with Millie. Many of you will know that I have two large rescues an one is a more difficult dog due to abuse early in his life. He struggles to trust anyone out of his pack and has never been left alone with anyone he doesn’t know, or in fact anyone other than me and my husband. We have never had a holiday since we adopted Charlie and have struggled to find the right sitter as kennels is just not an option. So I engaged with Millie after a recommendation and Millie worked with me and the dogs offering meet & greets until a bond had formed. Millie then spent time with the dogs alone and finally we managed to have our first holiday abroad. Millie kept us updated daily and sent photos throughout. Millie is not just a dog Trainer, walker and pet sitter, Millie has a degree in dog psychology. Millie understands dogs and is drawn to the more challenging as she wants to help the dogs and owners. She is calm, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I couldn’t leave my dogs in safer hands. Millie is based in Hoddesdon an I highly recommend.

🚨 NEW LAW FOR DOG WALKERS 🚨
(Protection of Livestock - Amendment Act 2025 - came into force this week)

New rules have come into force that every dog owner needs to be aware of.

If your dog chases, scares, or worries livestock - even without touching them you could now face serious consequences, including unlimited fines and the farmer has the right to shoot your dog if animals are in immediate danger of being attacked or worried.

This isn’t just about fields anymore either as it now applies to public paths, roads, and anywhere livestock are present.

What does this means for dog owners?
You must:
- keep your dog on a lead near livestock
- make sure that your dog is under full control at all times
- do not assume your dog wouldn’t hurt animals as chasing alone is now an offence

This is a big step up from previous laws and why? 2.4 million farm animals were killed by dogs in 2024, up 30% from the previous year and farmers state that this upward trends has continued year after year and is uncontrollable. Hence the new law.

Let’s be responsible, respect the countryside, protect our farm animals and protect our dogs.

Fines for dog worrying and attacks are now unlimited and imprisonment of up to 12 months.

We have been warned.

Questions for dog owners who use Secure Exercise areas 🙏

1 - How far would you travel in minutes by car, if at all, to reach a secure dog exercise field?

2 - Is bigger always better? Would you choose a 3 acre field over a 2 acre or is this just further to walk around?

3 - Is there anything that would make you select one secure exercise field over another?

I appreciate anyone who takes the time to provide feedback 🥰 Thank you x

I am coming back as of 1st Feb!
I am healing well and having physio and acupuncture to help with my mobility.

I plan to return to work part time initially and start grooming smaller dogs. I hope to know quite quickly how much I can do a day and how many days.

So initially I will be working 3 days a week, mornings only and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

I will contact everyone to discuss next steps. I will have to lean on my local groomers colleagues to help me to process all dogs as I just cannot fit everyone in initially. I hope to return full time but this is unfortunately not a given, due to the nature of my injury and the role I do.

I will be in contact this week 😃

Tarah x

IMPORTANT NOTICE
I am very sorry to say that I have had an accident and as a result I have fractured my spine. I have no choice but to cancel all appointments for the rest of the year.
I cannot apologise more and will individually contact anyone impacted by this. I am currently working with another two locals groomers who I trust, to see if they can take on your existing bookings so that no dog goes un groomed whilst I am recovering.
I’ll keep you posted. Tarah 🐾 ❤️

Operation Tarah

So I am having my long awaited surgery next week 🙌 as a result I’m busy busy busy as I need to clear the majority of next week for surgery and recovery. The last 2 weeks has been steady but as the kids have been off, and it’s Holiday time, I expect a rush of appointments in the coming weeks. Please bear with me if you can’t find an appointment. Contact me and I will try to fit you in at my earliest convenience.
Hopefully all will be back to normal by 3rd week of September

**all confirmed appointments will go ahead🤞🐾❤️

A dog has never died from not having a walk. After early morning it will be too hot. 25 degrees is 52 degrees on the ground for your dogs paw pads. Dogs sweat ONLY through their pads so hot surfaces means they cannot sweat and cannot cool down. Dogs pads can blister within minutes and heat stroke is deadly. Place the back of your hand on the ground for 7 seconds. If it’s too warm for your hand it will burn your dogs pads. Your dog is relying on you to protect them 🐾 💜

Your dogs look to you to keep them safe ❤️ 🐾
