Due to limited facilities and only being a one man operation, i can generally only accept birds from the WN1,WN2,WN3,WN7,BL5 & M46 postcodes. I've been a volunteer at Lucky Hens Rescue CIC since 2025. I found i had a lot of spare time on my hands between hen rescues and rehoming days, which can often be months apart, so i decided to set up Salisbury Field WBR Hindley to help rehabilitate injured w

ild birds, with the intention of releasing them back into the wild. Unfortunately, some birds cannot be released back as their condition would prevent them from coping or defending themselves. This can end up being costly due to daily changes of fresh bedding in addition to feed, grit, and medications etc. I therefore rely on donations in order to keep doing what i do so if you are able to help keep Salisbury Field WBR going it would be greatly appreciated, thank you ! I also accept donations of old newspapers (staple free), hand towels, and of course songbird/pigeon feeds and meadow hay. Small glass/ceramic shallow jars/ramekins are also accepted and used as water/feed bowls for isolated birds.

My 7 year old kitty is actually very tolerant of birds and other small animals, but that still doesn't mean i'd leave her unsupervised in the same room. But on the whole, she just accepts now that anything inside the house must be part of our pack. I also have an 11 year old rescue Westie who enjoys nothing more than to follow a birdy around the floor having a damn good sniff of it's botty 😆 I guess it's just a case of how they're been brought up to respect all other life, and my heart is filled with love when i see animals that shouldn't get along, get along 🥰
