🐾 TESSY TIME! 🐾

Did you know Tess has a favourite place?

When Rachel first started walking her, Tess would happily potter around the woods before heading home. Then one day she stopped at a busy road and absolutely refused to move.

She had somewhere important to go.

After a lot of determined staring, Rachel spotted a tiny footpath and followed her. Tess marched all the way onto Ludshott Common and suddenly transformed into a different dog.

Sniffing.
Exploring.
Trotting along with purpose.

Now every time she sees her harness, she heads straight for her beloved common.

This week she also enjoyed butt scritches, met her first "badger" (don't worry Sandra, she worked out it wasn't real 😆), and continued her search for the world's perfect snack.

Tess is learning that life can still hold new adventures.

Now she just needs a family to share them with. ❤️

Could you offer this gentle senior girl the retirement home she deserves?

🐾 OUR SOFA HELPED HIM FIND HIS HAPPY EVER AFTER 🐾

Helping to save a life is such an incredible feeling!

Meet Gizmo, a cheeky little chappie who was found wandering the streets alone in December 2023. We couldn’t bear the thought of him being alone at Christmas, so we decided to make him our first foster dog. And what a little ray of sunshine he was. Cheeky, playful, a typical puppy who kept our dog Sandy on her toes.

Helping Hounds provided everything we needed to look after our Christmas guest – food, bed, treats and toys. They helped us with advice as we started his toilet training and began to understand his personality. And, as he was very young, there was plenty of play and fun for us, for him and for the long-suffering Sandy!

By giving him our sofa and our love, we made it easier for him to find his happy ever after. He’s called Barney now and is living his best life with a lovely family. Just knowing we helped make that happen feels amazing.

Fostering for Helping Hounds is one of the best things we’ve ever done. If you care about dogs and want to help them find their perfect home, please open your home and your heart to a dog who needs a bit of help along their journey.

WE NEED YOU 🫵

Foster homes are so important — for many dogs, kennel life can be stressful, noisy, and overwhelming.

✨ By opening your home, you can give a dog the love, safety, and stability they desperately need during a difficult time.

✨ Whether it’s for a few days, a couple of weeks, or longer, fostering helps dogs adjust, recover, and get ready for their forever family.

✨ You won’t be doing it alone — we’ll support you every step of the way. Bedding, food, and all essentials are provided, and all veterinary costs are fully covered.

✨ You’ll also have 24/7 access to our foster team through a group chat — ask questions, share updates, and be part of a caring, supportive community.

📍 All we ask:
• You live within an hour of Grayshott Village
• You’re home most of the day
• You are experienced with and love dogs ❤️

🏡 You provide the home, we provide the support 🙏

Mavro is a handsome unneutered Labrador cross male puppy of around 6-8 months old. He is up to date on all vaccinations.

He is playful, dog and people friendly, walks fine on a lead/harness down to our little stream at the kennels and LOVES the water!

He was fantastic when meeting our volunteers’ children and we would happily Rehome him with children - over age 8 as a guidance because he’s still very bouncy! He would adore a home with another dog to play with and learn from.

If you would like to make a donation in Millie's memory we'd be so grateful and it would go a long way to help us provide for other dogs, like Millie who need ongoing medical care and a longer stay in our care. Every donation, no matter how small, helps another dog experience the love and dignity Millie knew.

☀️ Reintroducing Lovely Rhea ☀️

Here is more about Rhea,

She is a 3 years old chocolate and toffee Pinscher weighing approximately 10kg

❇️ She walks lovely on a lead.
❇️ She is a very calm loving girl once the bond has been built up and she realises that you are not going to leave her and give up on her but this will take time.
❇️ House trained

✴️ Rhea needs time, patience and someone who is prepared to invest their time in her let her come to you but once the bond is there then she will reward you with lots of cuddles and love and be a loyal loving companion.

❇️ Loves to play with a ball but isn't very good at giving it back!, she enjoys the interaction with her humans.
❇️ She's a very sweet girl and good company.
❇️ Travels well in the car 🚗

She will be a fantastic companion and would love someone that can be with her most of the day. Her foster says she will be very loyal and is eager to please so will enjoy doing any form of training , agility, basic training ,group walks etc...Rhea would really benefit from another dog in her forever home … she enjoys playing with other dogs and would learn a lot from a resident dog friend

💜 Happy Volunteers' Week! 💜

Today, we celebrate every incredible volunteer who gives their time, energy, and compassion to help our rescue dogs find the love and care they deserve.

Whether you're attending kennels, walking dogs, fostering, fundraising, transporting, supporting events, or helping behind the scenes, you make our work possible.
Thank you for everything you do. We couldn't do it without you. 🐾

As volunteers, we are urgently also making a special plea for our lovely Tess, who is now on her own after spending so long with her sister. We would love nothing more than to find her the home she deserves.

A long-term foster placement would be absolutely amazing and would truly make our year as a rescue.

You do not have to be local if it's the right home for her.
She's up on our stories ☺️🐾

If you think you could be that special person we're looking for, please get in touch with us for a chat. 🙏
