Bath time!! πŸ›β˜€οΈβ€οΈπŸ§½
This is the lovely Amber who had a bath in the sunshine today. She is one of our golden oldies, who came in to her cool stable to escape the heat today.
Hopefully everyone managed to enjoy the glorious Bank Holiday weekend! We would love to see your photos having fun with your ponies in the sun!

Rose and Amelia took Niall and Lady out for a blast in the sunshine.
This is the reward for all the hard work over winter πŸ’ͺπŸŽ‰

Lucacz, who is the livery manager at brooklet, also works with Donald's Bees. They occasionally get called out to relocate swarms that are found in peoples gardens. 🐝

He was called out to catch a swarm at 6.30am this morning in a tree in a private garden in Little Ness. He moved the swarm gently into a box and then settled them into their new home at Brooklet. 🌼🌸🌻

Did you know that honey bees beat their wings 200 times per second? This is what creates their characteristic buzz!

Enjoy the videos in the comments! 🐝

The lovely Brooklet Bertie is looking for his next adventure 😎
Bertie is one of Donalds horses, who has been produced at home by Donald and his friends Sandra Manley, Anna Stonex, and Matt Mcgee.
Donald would like to pass on a huge thank you to all those involved in Berties education, which has allowed him to now go on to a friends hunting yard and excel at the job he was built for πŸ’ͺ

He has done some showjumping and during the winter, he did some unaffiliated dressage and the judges loved him. He has qualifed for the royal international horse show as a working hunter winning his only 2 classes he has done. He also qualified in the middle weight hunter class.

He is now seeking his next partner in crime, someone who can continue to take him out hunting and going out to shows. He is a real head turner, and a forward powerful ride.

You can see his advert on horse quest for anyone interested. https://www.horsequest.co.uk/advertisment/404489

Well, thats a wrap on our winter fields folks!
We released our horses and ponies into 24/7 summer turnout over the weekend if they so chose to.
We will still have staff around for the next week to turn out for those wanting a gradual change.

So thank you to all our owners, loaners, horses, ponies and donkeys for all helping each other out over winter! Thank you for all your hard work to make sure the yard is a nice place for everyone. We loved your dedication to the horses, especially throughout the wet and gruelling February, and you all deserve a fun summer with your horses now.
And a big special thanks to our fantastic turnout team, from Georges very early morning breakfast rounds to Janes speedy steps down the tracks, and lukas extending the fields and managing grass - we are grateful for it all!!
We have staff starting at 5.30am to ensure we get turned out as soon as possible. I think our record was finishing turnout by 7.30am πŸ˜†We pride ourselves on allowing our horses to be out for long days grazing with their friends, even in the winter.
This wouldn't be possible without the dream team πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

So thank you George, Jane, Lukas, Adrian, Tedi, Jen, Em, Sadie, Laura & Charlotte for contributing to the team this year πŸŽ‰πŸ’πŸ’•

We recently had a special celebration in honour of our dear friend Bish and her human Elaine.
Bish is a beautiful chestnut mare who is stabled with us at Brooklet. She has had her fair share of trials and trebulations in her life - but she is a fighter and has a wonderful mum who gets her through each challenge!

She had an accident at the very end of last year which resulted in two long stays at Leahurst Equine Hospital for wound healing and skin grafting.
She received excellent care and support and was even described as the perfect patient πŸ˜‡

She has been a very patient girl throughout this journey, and her mum has followed every instruction to the letter, to ensure the smoothest recovery possible. She is getting stronger every day with the help of the fantastic team at Leahurst Equine Practice (We are pretty sure Elaine is on her third loyalty card by now πŸ˜†).
She is also very lucky to receive regular supportive care from Wirral Equine Massage while she is on box rest, to keep her feeling supple and relaxed πŸ’•

We are in constant awe of Elaine and her dedication to Bish. She the most wonderful owner, and nothing is "too much" for Bish.
She visited Leahurst every single day, and provided a bucket of hand picked grass from the Brooklet fields (only the best for Bish πŸ‘ŒπŸ€£) and spent time comforting her lovely girl.
Bish is very lucky to have Elaine, and we feel very lucky to have them both here at Brooklet.
So, a toast to Elaine - our kind and helpful friend and a toast to Bish - our pretty polo pony who always comes back fighting no matter what life throws at her πŸ’ͺ

πŸ£πŸ°πŸ’Happy Easter everyone πŸ’πŸ°πŸ£
We had a wonderful Easter Party on Friday, with lots of our yard family joining us for a fun filled day.
We started off the day with an Easter egg hunt, with special guest Little bo peep and the Easter sheep-bunny 🀣
All of the children followed the Easter trail into the brooklet easter field to hunt for eggs and other special treats.

We then had a little break to count our eggs and reveal a special prize for the person who found the Golden egg! Warren even led a conga line around the yard to distract the children while we set up the Easter feast!
Our marvellous volunteers put on a lovely spread that was shared by all! πŸ˜‹β™₯️

In the afternoon we had our fancy dress show and took part in handy pony and some pony games πŸ¦„

It was a super fun day, and a big thank you to everyone taking part! And a special thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and ensured it ran smoothly πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

New year, New field but the same happy ponies!

As the new year starts, we would like to reflect on the last year and say a big thank you to all our wonderful liveries for choosing us as home for their precious horses and ponies. It's a great pleasure to look after them and to be able to provide the 3 important F's to all our clients - Freedom, Forage and Friendship.
There is nothing better than seeing content animals in a peaceful herd πŸŒ±πŸ’š

And ofcourse a big thank you to all our fantastic staff and turnout team who help make the magic happen πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ

2025 was a year of highs and lows. We have battled challenging weather, dare we say it was too dry at times. We have also lost a few friends 🐴 who are dearly missed, but gained others on the way too.

Farming life and Equestrian life can be so hard, but its our wonderful support network that gets us through, and it's safe to say we really do have the best community at Brooklet.

Winter is tough, but it also brings out the best in us horsey folk. From the friends who share bring in duties, to the stable neighbour who helps you muck out when you're feeling under the weather. Your hacking buddy who helps you put the world to rights and your pal who helps drag your water bucket into your stable. Here's to another year of sharing our highs and halving our problems with our Brooklet friends❀️
Happy new year everyone πŸŽ‰
