Who doesn't love a box of puppies?! 😍

Our team are happy to do the selfless job of socialising puppies to new people (by stealing them away for cuddles and fuss). Getting your pets used to different people, and of course some positive interactions at the vets, is something that can be started young, and we're more than happy to help! πŸ’š

Luda had to visit us for investigations for pollakiuria (abnormally frequent urination) and haematuria (blood in the urine).
After some tests and an ultrasound, Luda was anaesthetised for a cystotomy, which is a procedure where the vet has to surgically remove uroliths (stones) from the bladder. The vet retro-flushed any debris from the urethra back into the bladder, and all the stones, debris, and blood clots were removed.
Luda has since been rechecked and is doing well! πŸ’š

Conker the Golden Retriever puppy came to see us for his vaccinations and health check πŸ’š
He was only 5.2kg when he had his photo taken with Liz, but we're sure he'll be too big to be carried around soon!
We recommend that puppies don't touch the ground outside their owner's property, or come into contact with unvaccinated/unknown dogs, until their immune system has learned how to fight off the diseases/illnesses we vaccinate against.
It's a win-win for both the puppies and our staff: endless cuddles! πŸ₯°

Beautiful Nelly was neutered at the Stokenchurch branch recently. She enjoyed her panda pillow and big yellow blanket, which helped to make sure she recovered from her surgery in comfort and warmth πŸ₯°

Gorgeous Bella visited last month for neutering, and even though she looks like a puppy, she's actually over a year old!
She knew the exact angle to hit with her head tilt to make sure everyone melted on the spot (and rushed to give her lots of love and cuddles) πŸ₯°

We recently got to meet another new staff pet: Wilma! πŸ’š
This sweet girl was in for her second vaccinations, so she's now all covered for the major infectious diseases: feline herpes and calicivirus (the viruses that can lead to cat flu), feline enteritis, and feline leukaemia.

Sweet Mango came to see us a while ago with an issue with his mouth.
He had a general anaesthetic to investigate the problem and we found a bit of stick stuck where one of his big molars should have been! 🦷
Annie the vet was able to remove the stick and checked the area with our dental x-ray machine. Luckily for Mango, the other teeth were fine, and there were no tooth roots or fragments left behind from the missing tooth!

He hasn't been back to see us since, so he must be behaving and not chewing on things he shouldn't be (we hope!) πŸ’š

Lovely Max and Barney came in to the Flackwell Heath branch recently for Vet Elena to give them their kennel cough vaccinations! They were both wonderfully behaved and offered a gentlemanly handshake at the end πŸ₯°

The kennel cough vaccine for dogs is similar to the flu jab for us: it doesn't completely stop them from getting the virus, but it lessens the symptoms and helps their immune system to fight it off quicker. 🦠
If your dog is showing signs of kennel cough (or any illness) it's best to prevent spread by keeping them away from other pets, including avoiding public areas where they may leave traces for another pet to get infected!

Lovely Kibo did her best to convince the team that she needed treats while she patiently waited for her turn with the vet. She had already had a few (and a lot of love and fuss) from her Temple End fan club, and we're looking forward to doing all again the next time she visits πŸ’š
