Not every travel moment needs a view or a plan.
Sometimes it’s just a cup of tea, a quiet room and a pause in the day that feels entirely your own. That’s something people don’t always expect from housesitting - how quickly a space that isn’t yours can start to feel familiar. Feel like a home from home.
There’s a comfort in settling into someone else’s place. You learn where everything is, you find your spot to sit, you fall into small routines without even realising. It might be a countryside cottage with soft lighting and blankets, or a city flat where the world carries on just outside the window.
Either way, those slower moments have a way of grounding the whole experience. They remind you that this is about living in those places, even briefly, as much as it is about the travelling.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
