(KIMS CREATURE CUTS was formally PAWS HIGH PEAK)
Hi, my name is Kim, I am a 44 year old female originally from Stockport in Cheshire. I spent most of my adult life in the hills of the High Peak, in Derb
yshire, I now live by the sea in Prestatyn, North Wales and the beach is one of my favourite places to find solace and walk my dogs. A little more about me, as spoken by my husband Neil, who operates and runs his own canine-focused business named 'NEILS Canine Training'
Kim's background started in the fitness industry, she was a very sought after, freelance Dance & Fitness Instructor in and around Derbyshire, Cheshire and Manchester. She was also a professional nightclub dancer being used to working all hours and training hard on her body and mind, with hobbies such as, dancing, fitness, dining out, crime documentaries, movies, and our pets and being a vegetarian! She dedicated her life to her business and its success in what ever that business may have been. We cherish our own three dogs, Rodney the Cocker Spaniel, Junior the Neapolitan Mastiff and Daphne a pug who rules the roost. We also have a ex stray street cat called Peter, who is the latest cat to join our family, as Kim has probably taken in and rehabilitated approx 15 stray cats and the been a failed foster to each and everyone of them! With a rich history of caring for a variety of animals, Kim's soft spot for stray cats is undeniable, and as the husband I have accepted my role in our growing feline family. A dedicated volunteer, Kim has assisted various animal charities and even journeyed to France to rescue dogs from Romania where they are treated like vermin. The creation of Kim in the pet industry came after this long and illustrious career in the fitness industry when she reached a point where injuries and the natural progression of time prompted her to seek a new professional direction. It was during this search that she stumbled upon the realm of pet grooming and care. Starting as a Pet Grooming Assistant in a corporate company, Kim immersed herself in mastering all aspects of grooming, eventually becoming a certified groomer. With growing confidence, she set out to establish her own business. In 2013, she proudly founded her first grooming and day care, pet business, offering full-time grooming services in a private salon nestled beside our own property. It quickly grew in success and became a well known, helpful and professional addition to the local community, walking around everyone would say 'Hey Kim' to the local pet carer and recommendations for her came flying in. Her compassion extends to her community, where she lends a helping hand to friends and neighbours, weather its judging local dog shows, taking part in local events, carnivals, shows, stalls, offering help with catching stray animals and offering advice at anytime of day, she will always go above and beyond. Kim herself is rooted in love and compassion, she has forged a unique ability with animals that continues to thrive. Over the years, she pursued numerous qualifications, ranging from all kinds of grooming related and pet related courses and obtained certifications in Pet Physiology and Pet Management, constantly seeking further knowledge and skills to better serve her clients. In November 2020, Kim, suddenly had to face personal challenge of acute liver failure and was dreadfully given 2 weeks to live. After weeks of trying to control the illness in Leeds St James Transplant Hospital, she came out with a new liver in January 2021. Life was suddenly thrown to a halt as she tried to recover and get back to some normality, however in May of 2021, 3 month post transplant, she was given the disappointing news that the operation didn't got to plan and the liver would need another replacement donor liver, which to this day.. over 4 years later, she is still waiting for, during which time she does her best to get fitter and stronger so her mind and body are ,ready to go through it again when that call finally comes! She remains committed to her beloved business 'Kim's Creature Cuts' and is still able to help, offer advice and have chats about your pets needs and requirements
The support and love we've received from our incredible clients-turned-friends and the local community in Derbyshire have been instrumental in our journey. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them and we hope she continues to form such a 'family feeling' client base in North Wales and surrounding areas. Long may she be her

She takes the time to understand your pet's needs, ensuring they feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the grooming process. Her welfare grooms focus on maintaining your pet's physical and emotional well-being, creating a positive and stress-free environment. Your pet will leave not only looking fabulous but also feeling content and well cared for. Kim also specialises in grooming more difficult pets, that may not have enjoyed past grooming experiences and may now object to having the encounter again.
'Kim's Creature Cuts' grooming is within a purposely modified, full equipped, mobile salon unit for the ultimate personal experience. Kim offers 121 private grooming sessions, or pet family sessions when requested. Please note - cat groom appointments are automatically completed in a 121, locked, private mobile unit, for safety of the cat. DOG GROOMING
Kim specialises in all types of dog grooming, for example, breed standard styles, clip off, tidy trims and welfare grooms, ensuring that your dog looks smart, stylish and comfortable. Not only will you turn heads with their well-groomed appearance, Kim ensures the maintenance of their coat's health, promoting proper growth and reducing the risk of matting and discomfort. Kim understands that matting can be uncomfortable and even painful for your furry companion. During your appointment consultation, Kim will discuss with you the best dematting service that will suit your pet to ensure a more comfortable grooming experience and teach you ways to combat it and with preventative help. CAT GROOMING
One of Kim's specialities is clip-offs (shave downs) for severely matted cats. This task requires utmost care and precision since a cat's skin is delicate and prone to tearing if not handled properly. By expertly removing the matting, Kim ensures the cat's comfort and prevents various issues, including skin problems, coat issues, compromised blood supply, ineffective flea treatments, and potential hematomas. Cat grooms aren't for aesthetics, but rather for the comfort of the cat. Removing matting as quickly and painlessly as possible is very important. Generally speaking she would not bath a cat unless it is medically necessary and advised by a vet, as the process can send them into shock. A healthy cat will generally groom themselves to a good standard, but heavy matting can stop this process in its tracks. If this service is required, please let Kim know and you will receive a full consultation. ALL SMALL PETS
Kim works with a variety of different small pets too, for example, bathing and clipping the bum of long coated Guinea Pigs, nail cutting on rabbits who's nails have curled around, thick fur removal for seasonal coat changes, bum cleans and 6 point health checks. Anything grooming related that your small pets requires, Kim can provide. SIX POINT HEALTH CHECKS

Caused by tarter developing around the teeth and gum pockets leading to gum inflammation and a weakened immune system and additional infections may cause serious health issues and even organs to fail! Introducing the vibration free and silent toothbrush designed especially for dogs! A microchip adjacent to the brush head creates the magic and ultrasound activates deep cleaning, it’s gentle and antibacterial. Gentle air osolations clean hard to reach places and removes the bacteria responsible for tarter! Air waves deeply pe*****te the gum pockets to destroy the bacteria inside and accelerates the healing process by reducing inflammation
It’s three sided brush head cleans all sides of the teeth in one pass and hopefully your dog stays calm and relaxed! This isn’t an option INSTEAD OF A VET DENTAL CHECK, this aims to work alongside 6 monthly or annual vets dental checks to ensure that throughout the year your dogs teeth are kept clean and in good health. Does it work on every dog ? Not every dog is going to be able to tolerate this! And I’m not going to pretend that we can offer it to all’
To be able to have this work and be effective your dog needs to be ok with it’s muzzle / mouth area being held for a period of time and their mouth being worked around! If we find that the teeth cleaning session isn't suiting your dog, that’s fine - we don’t carry on! Some may find it too invasive or difficult to manage if they aren't regularly touched around this area. If however your dog is likely to be fairly placid then it’s well worth the spend to get the teeth as in good nick as we can before the need for any dental surgery, where you may pay a hefty price for your dog to be knocked out and have teeth extractions! AGAIN = this isn’t INSTEAD OF! It’s to work alongside vet dental visits to keep the chance of needing dental work as low as we can get it
Add it to your grooming appointment or just book for a teeth clean, as single sessions can be purchased. FAQ'S
Q - HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GROOM MY PET? A: Grooming needs vary depending on your pets breed, coat type, and activity level. Generally, regular grooming every 4 to 8 weeks helps maintain a healthy coat and overall cleanliness. Cats can either require every few week maintenance or 2/3 times a year clip off. Q - WILL MY PETS BREED SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS BE CONSIDERED DURING THEIR GROOM? A: Absolutely. We tailor the grooming process to your pets breed, coat type, and individual needs. Whether it's a breed-specific haircut or coat maintenance, we ensure your pets unique characteristics are considered. Cats coat will be considered based on their coat type and condition. Q - CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC STYLE OR CUT FOR MY PET? A: Certainly! We welcome your input and preferences for your pets grooming style. Kim will work with you to achieve the desired look while keeping your pets comfort and well-being in mind. If there is any problematic coat, we may have to work on the desired look over time. Cat grooming is usually based on comfort before aesthetics. Q - HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL PET GROOMING SESSION TAKE? A: The duration varies based on your pets size, coat condition, and specific grooming needs. We'll provide you with an estimated time when you make an appointment. Cats will never been in a session longer than a hour, or up to the point they can manage if before an hour. Q - DO YOU OFFER ANY ADDITIONAL SERVICES DURING GROOMING? A: Yes, we offer add-on services such as teeth brushing, a**l gland expression, specialised shampoos or treatments for specific skin and coat concerns & fun coat colouring. Feel free to inquire about these options when scheduling your grooming session. Q - HOW CAN I HELP PREPARE MY DOG FOR GROOMING SESSIONS? A: To make the grooming experience more comfortable for your pet, it's helpful to get them accustomed to being touched and handled. Regular brushing at home can prevent tangles and matting. Additionally, socialising your pet with different people and environments can reduce stress during grooming sessions. If you are unsure of how your pet will be, contact Kim and request a 'Pet Van Inspection' to allow them time to see/smell the area. KIMS CREATURE CUTS
