🎉 HAPPY THURSDAY 🎉

We officially have our first Rowan House blood donor❤️ - and we couldn’t ask for a braver boy!

Due to Max being overweight he was unable to become a blood donor so has recently been completing weight clinics of which he is now officially able to be a lifeline for other pets when called upon🫶🏼

Max’s owners have been so dedicated to his weight programme and we can’t thank Max and his owners enough for allowing us to help save lives🙏🏼

This now means if we are to require an urgent/emergency blood transfusion for dogs AND cats, Max will be able to come in and donate his blood🩸

‼️‼️‼️

🥵 If you feel it is hot, your dog feels hotter🥵

Our wishes have been answered and HEAT is here☀️

However, we MUST make sure our dogs are exercised at appropriate times of the day to avoid heat stroke which is a life threatening condition‼️ Please be mindful over the next couple of days in particular and walk your dogs early in the morning or late at evening to avoid the risk of heat stroke🦮

Owner’s with dogs with double coats or thick coats, including but not limited to: Huskies, Chow Chow’s and German Shepherds or breeds with short snouts such as Pugs, French/English Bulldog’s and Boston Terriers - please take even more precautions🙏🏼

Symptoms of heat stroke include:
🥵 Excessive panting
🥵 Lethargy
🥵 Diarrhoea
🥵 Seizures

Remember - a couple of missed walks won’t hurt!

If you have any suspiscion your dog could be suffering from heat stroke then call your vets immediately to seek potential urgent treatment📞

🥳 ONE WEEK TO GO 🥳

With only one week until our open day on Saturday 28th June, we are starting the preparation within the clinic for all of our stalls, events and goodies ready to welcome you all to the practice🤗

Bring family, friends and your furry (or maybe not so furry) pups to join the party and meet new doggy friends🦮 and come get dressed up as a vet and hop in the Rowan House home-visit van for a picture📸

The team can’t wait to meet you all and show what we have to offer at Rowan House Vets! We will even be dressed for the occasion in our new uniform👀

As it is looking to be a warm day, please ensure your dogs have everything they need to keep cool! We will of course have lots of water available but we must ensure the safety of our pets💙

We can’t wait to see you all, tell everyone and book the date in your calendar📌📌📌

At Rowan House we feel it is so important to acknowledge our staff and the importance of their presence within the practice🙏🏼

So with that being said, we have introduced ‘Employee of the Month’💜

Our Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Mel, received the first award for May for her dedication and hard work as well as keeping up the team morale👍🏼

Well done Mel!👏🏼

Up next on our series of ‘what is one of the team’s favourite breeds?’🤷🏼‍♀️

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier sponsored by the most photogenic girl, Gracie🐶

Gracie is 8 weeks old and came in for her first vaccination and ironically is our SVN, Grace’s, favourite breed💙

We all know Staffy’s have the best smiles, so where are all our Staffy lovers?🥹
