☀️ Warm Weather Update – Dog Walks & Welfare ☀️

With temperatures forecast to reach 23–24°C next week, and afternoon temperatures climbing quickly from mid-morning onwards, I wanted to update all walks, daycare and boarding clients about our walking routine.

As always, the dogs’ safety and wellbeing come first. Even when temperatures may not feel extreme to us, dogs can overheat very quickly — especially during exercise, play, and running around at the secure field. Open fields, and direct sun can all become much hotter than the air temperature itself, increasing the risk of overheating.

Because of this, afternoon walks probably won’t go ahead if I feel conditions are unsafe. Instead, I will however endeavour to walk the dogs in the mornings, when:
🐾 temperatures are cooler
🐾 there is more shade from the trees
🐾 the grass is still damp from overnight dew
🐾 it is much safer and more comfortable for the dogs

The dogs will still receive plenty of enrichment, play, toileting opportunities, cuddles, and stimulation throughout the day, with careful monitoring to keep everyone cool and happy. 💛

Thank you for your understanding and support — I know all owners will agree that keeping the dogs safe must always come first during warmer weather. ☀️🐶
