This little hog was terribly thirsty last night, he returned three times to the water bowl.
Hedgehogs need water that they can reach, so please put out shallow bowls of water for these little guys🙏

Little Woody, our rehabilitation hedgehog from Help4hedgehogs and I seem to have settled into a routine.
Every morning, I make my breakfast and watch the morning news. As soon as I sit or lie down, the Woodster comes out and eats his food at the same time! 🤦
We always end up with the rehab hogs who are not quite sure what they are, despite being left to their own devices, with the only human contact being physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Maybe he likes to keep up with current affairs?🙄🤷

I phoned the British Hedgehog Preservation Society yesterda to try to find out if we need to register as a rehabilitation and soft release centre for hedgehog rescues.
I spoke to a very nice, charming lady who confirmed that we are working for registered rescues, and that as we have Vale hedgehog first aid certificates we should become a rescue.
She tried to persuade us to become a registered hedgehog rescue. Despite her charm and manipulative techniques, which I recognised from my daughter. I very politely but firmly declined.
I said that my own daughter used the same methods on me and that she probably had her own father wrapped around her little finger.
After brief pause the nice lady giggled like a little schoolgirl and said Yes😂

Our latest little con-artist from Tas Clarke’ Help4hedgehogs, who was referred to us for rehabilitation after a nasty leg break: has successfully evicted me from my bed.
It started with a series of pathetic little whimpers, as soon as I picked him up he snuggled into me, and as usual in these situations my heart melted.
At this point, my back started aching and I decided to take to my bed with the little hog snuggled into my back; apparently for warmth.
Shortly after this I realised I was being head-butted in my back by the little miscreant, this prompted  me to visit the bathroom.
On my return I found that my side of the bed and the satin duvet cover had been commandeered, and any attempt to reclaim it was rebuffed with hissing, spitting and explosive jumps!

We converted our enclosures for rehab hogs to feeders and added more houses for our herd of disabled hogs, in our secure back garden, some time ago.
We now use temporary enclosures for rewilding rehabilitation hogs before releasing them through our garage, which has access to the great outdoors.
This video shows one our disabled hogs in something of hurry❤️
