We are shocked and saddened for the need to be writing this post

PLEASE DO NOT EXERCISE YOUR DOGS IN THIS HEAT

They won’t die from missing a walk, but they might from just one walk today

Alternatives
💧 Lying in a paddling pool
🧊 Playing with frozen cubes 🧊 of eg chicken stock
🚿 A hosing down with a garden hose pipe

It’s 32c people - stay in the shade / indoors / on a wet patio , whatever is coolest

Dogs in hot countries are acclimatised - this can take up to 8 weeks - longer if they’re particularly young or old . Other conditions that make it tougher include being overweight , health issues such as heart or kidney disease, being a short nosed breed

Smaller pets also suffer with sudden changes in temperature, so ensure hutches etc are not “hot boxes”

We’re excited to share that our very own Miss Rowe (Lee’s daughter) will be running a General Dogsbody stand, offering a fantastic selection of our favourite natural dog treats, chews and own brand dog food. There’ll be something for every dog, from tasty training treats to long-lasting chews.

Plus, enjoy stalls ran by Year 8 students, a homemade cake sale and lots more…

General Dogsbody is an independent, family owned business located in the beautiful city of Hereford. With over 40 years of experience, we pride ourselves on being friendly and knowledgeable, with a fantastic team of staff to support us.

We started in 1982 as a raw food delivery company in and around Herefordshire and South Wales. We opened our first store in the old cattle market in 1985, followed by a stall in the butter market.

By 2009 it was time to move to a bigger premises on Barrs Court Road, home to our current store of 16 years! A huge thank you to all of our loyal customers wherever you’ve joined us on our Journey!X
