If this heat persists (which I’m sure most are hoping) I’ll be doing walks from 6AM- 10AM and 4PM - 8PM, DM to book or call 07802685990 🐾

Look at those temperatures 😍☀️😎

Perfect for a Bank Holiday weekend, right? But what it’s not perfect for is our 4 legged friends 🐕

Please please be sensible this weekend and consider your animals in this heat 🌞

Heatstroke in dogs is serious and something that can be so easily prevented!

Is it too hot to walk our dogs? Most definitely in this heat! Unless you’re out early morning, or late at night 🌅

Top tips to remember in hot weather:
☀️Ensure your pet has plenty of water and shade all day
☀️Walk your dog when it’s cooler - early morning or late evening
☀️Take the tarmac test - can you put the palm of your hand on the tarmac for 5 seconds without it feeling uncomfortable? If not - then it’s too hot for your dog to walk on

NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A WARM CAR‼️
🚘 Within 5 minutes, a dog could die in a hot car
🚘 Winding the window down is not enough to help

Five signs of heatstroke:
🥵 Heavy panting
🥵 Excessive drooling
🥵 Vomiting
🥵 Drowsy and uncoordinated
🥵 Collapsing

If your dog is showing any of these signs:
❗️Move your dog into the shade
❗️Offer them cool water to drink
❗️Soak with a cold hose, or immerse in cold water
❗️Immediately contact your vet

Just remember, no dog has ever died from missing a walk, but sadly too many have from heatstroke 💔

Couple of updates for you all, I had surgery yesterday, so if I’m not replying, that’ll be why. My books are closed for dogs for the rest of 2026, I do have availability for cats, small pets, reptiles, farm animals and horses though! I’ll be off for two weeks, and all going well I’ll return to walking mid May! Trust me, I reckon I’ll miss your dogs more then they’ll miss me 😂🐾

And the update everyone’s REALLY waiting for, my prickly little friend: he was taken to a rescue after being seen at Mortimer vets by my lovely friend and the most loving vet I know, Fern. He is male, temp was 35.7 so very cold, weight 590g which was pretty underweight for an adult male. He potentially has an old fracture on his right hind leg but otherwise seemed ok ate very well that night, he’s been forwarded to wildlife rescue where they will try to do a soft release - feed him up, test him for parasites and to assess if he is able to survive with the injured leg, which if he won’t be able to in the wild, he’ll be very loved in a sanctuary for the rest of his life!

So me and Mr.Prickles are both injured, but doing well, and in the right place by us both 🦔🐾 See you on the flip side xx

I’ve ALWAYS loved and had black cats, they have such a personality and my little Missy is the light of my life!

If you were ever to ask me about adopting a cat, I’d always recommend a black cat, and I promise. The rumours are true….theyre lucky! 🐈‍⬛

🖤 Black Cats — Let’s Finally Drop the Myths 🖤

We have so many black cats at the moment and every year it’s the same story. They wait the longest, they get overlooked the most, and it’s all because of old superstition that should’ve died out centuries ago.

Here are the facts ⬇️

🐈‍⬛ Black cats are half as likely to be adopted as cats of other colours.
🐈‍⬛ They make up a third of all cats in rescue.
🐈‍⬛ They take 24% longer to rehome.
🐈‍⬛ They’re 70% more likely to be abandoned.
🐈‍⬛ The black‑coat gene is dominant — so there are simply more of them needing help.
🐈‍⬛ And yes, more black cats are male than female.

None of this has anything to do with luck, omens, witchcraft, or any of the nonsense that still gets thrown around. Black cats aren’t unlucky — they’re just unlucky enough to be judged on colour.

Across the world, black cats are actually seen as good luck, symbols of protection, prosperity, and safe travel. Sailors kept them on ships. Families kept them at home. In Japan, they’re believed to bring love. In Ancient Egypt, all cats — black included — were treasured.

But here’s what matters most:

🖤 Black cats are affectionate.
🖤 Black cats are playful and loyal.
🖤 Black cats are desperate for homes.
🖤 And right now, we have far too many waiting.

If you’d like to meet the black cats currently in our care, please get in touch.
Right now we have:

🖤 Two gorgeous 7‑month‑old females
🖤 A stunning long‑haired Persian x Russian Blue
🖤 And several other beautiful black cats of all ages waiting for homes

They’re all different personalities, all deserving, and all overlooked for reasons that have nothing to do with who they are.

If you’re thinking about adoption, please don’t walk past the ones who blend into the shadows. They’re waiting — quietly, patiently — for someone to finally see them.

💛 Every cat deserves a chance to be seen.

Bit of a big update post!

1. I have new friends, I’ve recently been taking on more clients then ever. And have been lucky enough to be blessed with some lovely new pups, but am now looking for more Reptiles, XL bullies and Big breed dogs. If you can put any forward and they decide to use me, you and the new customer will received 20% off for the next 3 months!!!

2. As most of you know, I’ve been really unwell in my personal life recently so as of the 29th of April I’ll be having surgery to remove my gallbladder! Unfortunately this will mean 2 weeks off from your wonderful pups!

3. I also have some very hectic family things coming up, and another surgery, so unfortunately anyone booked in that time will have to be either rescheduled, or I can help find the second best pet sitter to cover 😉🐾

4. MY BOOKS ARE NOW FULL FOR 2026🐾 unless you’re looking for daily walking, you’re a close friends, a cat, reptile, small animal or farm animal owner. I have no more space for dog sits for the rest of the year, which is CRAZY!!!

5. If you got to the end of this post, give it a little like and thank you ever much ❤️ Happy Easter everyone 🐣🐣

IMPORTANT NOTE:
I never want to share bad on this page but it’s come to my attention that there are at least two pet sitters in Leominster that have no insurance

With the rising number of pet sitters and dog incidents please always, ALWAYS check insurance and reviews.

If a service doesn’t suit you, the pet sitter will always be happy to recommend another sitter 🐾

Saying that….MY DIARY IS NOW OPEN FOR APRIL UNTIL DECEMBER!

With the rising cost of living; my prices have stayed the same, with discounts available and as always a 5 star service ⭐️

❄️WINTER ADVICE FOR DOGS❄️

DOG COATS
Skinny and thin coated dogs can benefit from a warm jacket. Be careful of putting a coat on a fluffy dog though as it can actually stop their fur trapping heat by pushing out the air in their coat that works as natural insolation.

KEEP ACTIVE
Movement will generate body heat so keep your dog active when outside.

ROAD GRIT
Be aware of chemicals such as grit and salt on the roads as it can be an irritant to a dog’s paws and pads, and their noses too when they are sniffing. Ice and snow can also cause irritation.

PAW PROTECTION
There are some brilliant balms on the market to protect paws and pads from cold conditions. Sensitive dogs will benefit from dog-friendly booties to keep their pads protected in the cold weather.

SHORTER WALKS
If your dog is not used to the cold it is important to stick to shorter walks to start off with until they get used to it. Heading outside during the warmer part of the day (11am-3pm) is also a good place to start.

❗️BE AWARE❗️
Important signs of cold related illness to watch out for include shivering, whining, reluctance to move, holding paws up, seeking warmth, or acting disoriented. If you see any of these, head home immediately and warm up. If symptoms continue, please contact a vet for guidance.
