🐾 Did You Know? Many Small & Medium-Sized Dogs Can Be Prone to Luxating Patellas 🐾

A luxating patella is a condition where a dog’s kneecap temporarily slips out of place. It is commonly seen in many small and medium-sized breeds, including Cockapoos, Cavaliers, Yorkshire Terriers, Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, Miniature Poodles and other similar breeds.

Signs to look out for include:
🐶 Skipping or hopping on a back leg
🐶 Briefly holding a leg up before walking normally again
🐶 Intermittent limping
🐶 Difficulty jumping or climbing stairs
🐶 Reluctance to exercise
🐶 Changes in movement or mobility

Many dogs with mild luxating patellas can still enjoy happy, active lives with appropriate exercise, weight management and veterinary care. However, if you notice any of the signs above, it’s always best to seek advice from your vet.

As groomers, we take extra care with dogs who have mobility issues by helping them onto the grooming table, providing support where needed and ensuring their comfort throughout their groom.

If your dog has been diagnosed with a luxating patella, arthritis, hip issues or any other mobility condition, please let us know before their appointment so we can adapt our handling and make their grooming experience as safe and comfortable as possible. ❤️

🐾 Another fantastic week of grooms! 🐾

I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to all my amazing customers, and a big welcome to all my new followers who have joined the page recently. It’s lovely to have you here! ❤️

I’m also excited to say that a couple of people have already started filling in the new loyalty cards, which is brilliant! 🎉

I’ve been thinking about introducing some monthly special offers too. I haven’t decided exactly when they’ll start or how often I’ll run them, but ideas include things like:

✨ £3 off mileage
✨ £5 off a groom
✨ £2 off a nail trim

The idea would be that you could choose between claiming the monthly offer or collecting a loyalty stamp. I’m still working out the details, but it’s all very exciting!

One thing’s for sure… it definitely pays to be loyal! 🥰🐶
