Every day, all day long, we have customers asking us when we are leaving, and where we are going. We don't know those answers right now, and we are having to tell people all day long, we don't know, we don't know.
What is really great is that so many people care and want to know what we are going to do, for which we are all very grateful. The plan is 100% to relocate the Hemel store, and to carry on bigger and better, as locally as possible. We have to be out of our present site by the end of January, and the preferred plan is to still be in Hillier and trading at Christmas and to move in January. Very soon I will start looking in earnest for a new site, and when I find one, I will be shouting about it. There will be leaflets in store, with the date, and directions to our new site. It will happen, I'm not worried, but right now, yes we have to leave and no we don't know where we are going. I am well aware that the next few months will fly by, and I will be giving relocation a lot of focus very soon. A few options have appeared, even though I'm not focusing on relocating right now. One problem at a time, one day at a time, but as I said, I am so very grateful that so many of you care what is going to happen to us. When I opened the Hemel Hempstead store in 2018, it just felt like something I had to do, to continue to do the job I loved and serve the customers who counted on me and my team. It feels the same now. 🙏
