WE’RE HIRING AT HOUGHTON COUNTRY!

We’re growing our team and have opportunities available across both our retail and office teams, with scope to hire multiple new team members.

🐴 Equestrian Sales Assistants
A customer-facing role helping and advising customers, working with our equestrian products and supporting the day-to-day running of the shop.

💻 Office Administrators
A varied office role covering customer service, processing orders, stock management and general administration.

Both roles are full-time and based at Houghton Country in Heddon-on-the-Wall.

We are gearing up for our busiest time of year, and are looking to add another member to our close knit team.

Houghton Country are a busy equestrian retail store with a large online presence. The role will involve helping our local customers instore, sharing your knowledge and expertise, as well as picking orders for our internet sales and dealing with daily deliveries.

The full time role is based at our store at Heddon On The Wall, working 5 days Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, with a Sunday off and one regular day off during the week. As a bonus we are closed Bank Holidays!

We are looking for someone with good equestrian knowledge, is confident in speaking to customers and who can work independently as well as part of a team. The role would suit someone who likes being on their feet, enjoys variety, is able to use their initiative and get stuck in from day one. We use a variety of different tills and operating systems, full training will be given but you do need to be confident on a computer. Lots of product training and fitting will be given so this is ideal for someone looking to learn more in this industry.

Our staff all start on minimum wage to begin with; this is negotiable once you have settled in and passed the probationary period.

All our staff are lucky enough to receive a staff discount on the products in store. Particularly helpful when you have horses!
