Next week will be the last week for 1:1 bookings

The home-ed group will still be running next week with the last session will be taking place on the 30th.

You'll all be pleased to know that the babies Mickey and Elvis have secured themselves the most wonderful loan home with a good friend 💕

Barney and Laddie are staying with me and will have some new field companions very soon.

It's the end of the Helpful Hooves chapter but also the start of an exciting new chapter for me and the horses ❤️

If anyone would like a session over the next few weeks and a chance to say goodbye to our wonderful herd then please let me know 🥰

🚨🚨It is with a heavy heart that we announce Helpful Hooves will be closing at the end of this month.🚨🚨

While this is not an easy decision, we are incredibly grateful for the amazing journey we have shared. We have had the privilege of supporting so many wonderful people, creating special memories, building confidence, and witnessing the unique bond between people and horses.

Although we are sad to be saying goodbye, we are also proud of everything that has been achieved and thankful to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your kindness, encouragement, and trust have meant the world to us.

Sessions will continue to run as normal until the end of the month, and we look forward to seeing you all over the coming weeks.

Thank you for being part of the Helpful Hooves story. We will treasure the memories forever. ❤️🐴

One of the many amazing things about horses is their incredible coats. Even on the wettest days, their natural coat is designed to protect them from the elements. The oils in their hair help create a waterproof barrier, allowing rain to bead up and roll right off instead of soaking through to the skin.

There's something fascinating about watching a horse standing calmly in a shower, with droplets glistening on their coat before trickling away. Nature has equipped them perfectly for life outdoors, keeping them warm, dry, and comfortable in all kinds of weather.

It's just another reminder of how remarkable these beautiful animals truly are. 🐴🌧️✨

💕 Our beautiful Poppy went to her new loan home yesterday 💕

She's going to enjoy a quieter life being a companion pony for a while 🐴

Whilst we'll all miss her here we know that this decision was the best possible thing we could do for her mental well-being. 🥰

A lovely morning spent with our home ed group today 🐴✨

Today we focused on groundwork with our horses — practising leading, backing up, and turning their hindquarters away 👣

Groundwork is such an important part of building communication and connection between us and our horses. It also helps improve body awareness, encouraging horses to become more present in their bodies and more aware of how they move.

There’s something truly special about the moment a horse leans in, asking for a scratch 💛

Those gentle nudges—or even the classic backing up into you—aren’t just cute, they’re communication. Our boys Mickey and Elvis are masters of this… often reversing straight into us to politely (or not so politely 😄) request their favourite bum scratches!

When a horse seeks out scratches, it’s a sign of trust, comfort, and connection. By responding, we’re not only helping them reach those itchy spots, but also strengthening our bond in a way that feels natural to them.

Mutual grooming is a key part of how horses build relationships with each other. So when we take the time to scratch their withers, neck, or yes—even their bum—we’re speaking their language. That’s what builds a deeper, healthier partnership.

Finally some sunshine at last ☀️ Our horses have been making the most of it, enjoying a well-deserved scrub up this week 🐴✨

This morning our home ed group got stuck in and helped bathe Poppy and Elvis — such a lovely experience for everyone involved.

It was especially interesting to see how quickly the children picked up on when the ponies were feeling overwhelmed or dysregulated. Such a valuable bit of learning, for both humans and horses 💛
