Critter Sitter Sussex's new Small Group Dog Daycare & Enrichment Centre is now welcoming new dogs for September.

And we're doing daycare a little differently.

We keep our groups small, with a 1:6 staff-to-dog ratio, so we have the time to actually know every dog in our care.

Structured walks. Enrichment. Carefully managed socialisation. Individual attention. Proper rest.
Small groups. More attention. Better days for dogs.
Regular and occasional daycare spaces available.

I look tired... but I'm not done. ☕

If I'm honest, this photo probably sums up the last few months better than I could put into words.
The website is almost ready and after months of planning, building, spending money I never expected to spend and questioning every decision... we're nearly there.
This isn't the finished product. There are still bits to do, improvements to make and plenty of ideas waiting for the budget to catch up.
But I've realised something over the last year...
Progress doesn't have to be perfect.

If all goes to plan, Critter Sitter's new Dog Daycare & Enrichment Centre will be opening (officially) very soon, and I honestly can't wait to welcome both familiar and new faces through the door.
Thank you to everyone who's supported me, encouraged me and believed in this crazy idea. It genuinely means more than you know.

If this video feels a little chaotic... that's because it perfectly sums up my brain right now. 😅

Tomorrow is inspection day.

The dream was always to have everything looking absolutely perfect before opening. The reality? Starting a business comes with a lot of unexpected costs, and sometimes you have to remind yourself that "finished" and "perfect" aren't the same thing.

So today has been all about cleaning, tidying, moving things around for the hundredth time and trying to ignore the mild panic setting in.

Whatever happens tomorrow, I'm incredibly proud of how far we've come. This place has been built with a lot of hard work, a few sleepless nights and a determination to create something really special for the dogs.

Wish me luck... hopefully this time tomorrow we'll officially be one step closer to opening our doors. 🐾

Every now and then, a new face walks through the door and it feels like they've always belonged.

Meet Fern. 💚🐾

Fern is a little rescue with the happiest tail you've ever seen. She greets everyone like they're her long-lost best friend and has already settled into the gang beautifully.

Watching rescue dogs learn to trust, make friends and simply enjoy being dogs again is one of the best parts of this job.

We're so excited to have you as part of the Critter Sitter family, Fern. We can't wait for all the adventures ahead.

P.S. Please excuse the slightly demonic photo... 😂 I promise she has the most beautiful smile. She just refuses to keep still long enough for a decent picture!

Some dogs leave paw prints. Others leave part of themselves with you.

This weekend we said goodbye to Theo.

For around nine years, it was a privilege to be part of his life. Theo did everything at his own pace. Every walk included stopping to sniff every leaf, gracefully floating around puddles because getting his paws muddy was simply beneath him, and quietly reminding us all that life isn't something to rush through.

Theo came into the world of the most wonderful family after being rescued, and I genuinely believe they rescued each other.

People often think this job is "just looking after dogs". It isn't.

It's watching puppies grow old. It's celebrating the happy days, supporting families through the hard ones, and building friendships that last for years. These dogs become part of our daily lives and, before you know it, part of our own family too.

Thank you for every walk, every stubborn sniff, every muddy puddle you refused to step in, and every smile you gave us.

Run free, Theo. You were one of a kind, and you'll be missed more than words can say. ❤️🐾

The happiest of birthdays, Baxter. We took this mud monster for a Special walk to celebrate with his friends. No silly hat this time, but all the mud. One happy dog, two slightly annoyed owners 😅
