With the warmer weather arriving, here are some important reminders for fellow dog parents ☀️🐶

Walk early morning or later in the evening when pavements are cooler

Always check the ground with your hand — if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws

Make sure fresh water is available at all times

Frozen treats, lick mats, and enrichment toys can help keep dogs cool and entertained

Never leave dogs in cars, even for “just a minute”

Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or wobbling

Breeds with thick coats, flat faces, puppies, and older dogs can struggle more in the heat

Cooling mats, paddling pools, damp towels, and shaded areas can make a huge difference

If your dog seems unwell in the heat, contact your vet immediately ❤️

Hope is personally recommending finding the coolest spot in the house and refusing to move until September 😅🐾
