So it's been a busy time.
2 weeks ago I rescued a clutch of eggs from someone who 'didn't listen to advice to cull them once laid' we always advise this when you don't have background information for 3 generations.

This is to help with the incredibly high amount of 'inbreeding'
The chance of the parents to these babies are siblings is very high.
So I am now having to raise 75 babies! This is all quite annoying as the backgrounds weren't known, the genetic default morph is a 'wild' this is the least desirable morph and will be incredibly hard to give these babies a home they deserve when ready.
What I'm really trying to say is, it may be 'cute' your pet has bred and produced a clutch of babies.
But what we can't see at that moment is the possible deformities inside. The pain they could be in. The shortened life span due to genetic issues. The list goes on....
So when you're told to 'cull your eggs immediately after them being laid' we're not being cruel.

It is in fact more cruel to have to try to raise these babies and let them suffer. When eggs are fresh, they are cells and don't feel anything. Past 3 days old they get a heart beat and a nervous system. This is then too late.

Please listen to experienced breeders/rescues . As this is heart breaking and I've now potentially got to keep 75 axolotls tubbed as people won't want to rehome them.

Sorry for the doom and gloom. But I am being brutally honest.

Not a lot been happening over the last month.
I’ve taken in a Male Golden Albino, who will be up for rehoming. He’s just going through quarantine now.
Another week and he will be ready 😊

So we’ve had a busy summer ☀️rehoming 🏠🌊rescues and juveniles (there is a couple left if anyone is still interested)
We will be welcoming some new adults to the clan as well 👀😍

So today at Em’s Lil Lotls I have taken in these 5 beautiful babies.
Circumstances unfortunately changed.
So in the next couple of weeks these will be ready for new 🏠

1 very slightly dirty leucistic

1 Golden Albino
1 very dark wild (she is dwarf so will need an experienced home)

So this weekend will be the end of ‘Minnie’s’ stay at ours. She will be off to her forever home. She is a beautiful baby and will be very missed.

We have 6 hatchlings still more to go. Now the fun starts with our silly water. So these babies will be raised in spring water till ours is more stable and they are a bit stronger 🥰
