Telling your dog you love them can have a real emotional impact.

Research from Canine Cottages looked at how dogs react physically when they hear kind, loving words from their owners.

In the study, researchers tracked the heart rates of four dogs and noticed a clear change when their owners said, “I love you.” The dogs’ heart rates rose by about 46 percent.

Their average resting heart rate was roughly 67 beats per minute, but after hearing those affectionate words, it climbed to around 98 beats per minute.

That kind of jump is often linked to excitement and happiness, similar to the way a person’s heart may race when they feel joy, love, or strong affection.

The study suggested that this reaction was not caused by fear or stress, but by positive feelings and the close connection dogs share with their owners.

Neutralize the Venom:
Bee venom is acidic and can be soothed with a paste of baking soda and water.
Wasp venom is alkaline, so dabbing it with a small amount of vinegar can help.
