Just had a message from somebody looking for a new gundog trainer.
Has been training with a person for over a year, went to a "working test training day" the trainer told them they are ready for tests. Cue this person going to a test in the summer. Their dog was FAR from ready, they had been told the totally incorrect things for working tests too meaning the trainer has been falsely teaching many many people.
Not to mention this trainer has NEVER ran in a retriever test, let alone had an award. I believe they haven't done any proper tests with their spaniels either.
Their own dogs are some of the most ill trained I have ever seen on a shoot too which makes it worse 😂🙈
If your looking for a trainer at least make sure they know how to train their own dogs first! Don't just listen to what they say but do your own research on them too.
This isn't the first person to tell me about their poor experiences with this person. Unfortunately most of those who go to them know no better as haven't seen a different trainer who actually knows what they are doing.
