Loved every minute of dancing with you today 🧡

Mine and Hugo’s Area Festival Prep started today, with the first outing to learn our Novice test.

65.67% and 4th in the first test, a little too relaxed if Hugo ever knew what that meant,
Did the same test again HC with a bit more punch for 65.8%.
Absolutely over the moon with my ginger bean, everything’s falling into place nicely. 🥰🧡

Today saw Hugo and I make our Regional debut at
He qualified for Winter Regionals but I didn’t believe either me or him were ready to tackle that so we gave it a miss.
6 months later and a shed load of training under our belt, we qualified for Summer Regionals!
We feel like such a partnership now and I felt we were in a good enough place to give it a good go, so we did!

A little more tension than I’d like but no where near as tense as he could have been - a much bigger atmosphere, a dressed arena and flags, he held his own alongside some super smart dressage horses. (When we consider this as part of our event horse training).
Pretty pleased with 65.5% alongside some lovely comments that acknowledge he isn’t yet the finished article!
We finished a very respectable 13th, with super close scores.

It’s about the journey with Hugo, and what a journey it’s turning into - dressage done for a while, jump lesson tomorrow! 🥳
