Evening lovelies, it’s only been about 7months since I posted on here 😬 I wanted to drop a little post regarding appointments and updates for the rest of the year.

As it currently stands I do not have 1 spare appointment left for the year. This is with me working days off/evenings. If any cancellations occur these will be offered to regular/returning customers first.

As most of you know I’m off on holiday this Saturday for 2 weeks to celebrate my best friend turning 30 🎉 I appreciate my replies have been slow this week but I’m working every hour to fit all your angel doggos in. NO messages or calls will be replied to from 1st-14th of November.

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you for every ounce of your support this year! It has been so surreal for me and it’s not finished yet.

Some of you may have seen these videos circulating currently on other social platforms and I’ve got to say it’s really got my back up!

Not every dog likes being groomed, in fact a very small minority do. It’s our job to reinforce a positive, pleasant experience in order for it to become at least a tolerable experience for your dog.

These videos in my opinion highlight everything I do not wish to ever be. Completely praying on a dogs fear and vulnerability to “gain someone views” or “make people laugh” high velocity dryers are called that for a reason. They produce such a force of air that for some dogs this can be so frightening. Yes, they have their place and without them are job would take a long time. But they were not designed to blast forceful air into a dog’s face!

How many times as a child would you stick your head out of a moving car window and couldn’t breathe? Well imagine how those poor dogs felt.

Anyway happy Monday folks 😂 here’s to always being a kind groomer. ♥️

Seeing groomers blast a high-velocity dryer in a dog's face like it's some kind of joke? Not cute. Not funny. Just stressful and dangerous. If you think this is acceptable, you need to rethink how you handle dogs. And honestly, you’re exactly the kind of person who needs proper grooming education. Dogs deserve better. Do better.

Spring is here 🌼🌷🌱🌸

I haven’t quite been on my A game this week taking photos as I’m not feeling to well. Turns out everything catches up with us in the end 😩 however, we do now have a spring backdrop!!

Little Millie was our last girl to have a valentines shoot and whah a beauty she is. Although looking back through my photos it’s seems all I groom is spaniels 😂 Tomorrow I’m going to do a little “come groom with me” on a not so perfect dog. To show you guys not every groom goes swimmingly 😬

I had to give this little boy a post of his own as it takes a lot to make me cry but this little lad brought a tear to my eye 😢

Meet Ziggy!! 🤍

You may wonder what’s so special about Ziggy so let me tell you his story. This was Ziggy’s 1st groom with me and before the appointment was booked I was warned how he can be extremely fear aggressive, his owner wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do anything at all.

Little Ziggy was rescued from the absolute disgraceful abuse of the Korean meat trade 😢 for the first 3 years of Ziggy’s life he was house in a crate only big enough to turn around with 4 other cages worth of dogs stacked on top pooing and peeing on him.

Ziggy was beaten, tortured, and abused in so many ways possible that when he was rescued he had 23 fractured teeth, 2 broken thigh bones and multiple more injuries. In Ziggy’s rescue 100 dog’s managed to be saved out of 400!!

This sickening abuse has left mental and physical scars on such an innocent, kind soul that will never be reversed. Yet the love he has to offer still he offers in abundance.

It’s taken a long time for Ziggy to have any form of trust in humans and it’s all thanks to his mummy. The lady that rescued him and saved his life.

For those that are unaware how awful the meat trade is and the horrific things these dogs have to endure before they are cruelly killed is sickening.

Back to Ziggy’s groom. I can’t tell you how proud I was giving this little dog back to his mum. Ziggy did have a few wobbles during his groom however, was no way near the aggressive monster I was told he was. Instead just a scared little lad that needed someone to sympathise and appreciate we can go slow and take are time and work it out together. And I think for a first time he didn’t turn out to bloody bad.

are the charity that saved little Ziggy’s life. They rely on donations and appreciate every penny to be able to use to save more of these poor dogs. ❤️

With Valentines 2025 coming to an end it’s only fair to share with you the last few beauty’s 😍

Tomorrow is a real tough day for me as it marks 1 year since my dearest Oscar passed away. Without him there would be no Smart Paws. I will be taking the day away from my phone any messages will be replied to on Monday.

Love is in the air ❤️🌹

Hello my angels, I think this is my first proper post since well…. A long time ago. We finally have a new back drop area and I’m so in love with it! (Pardon the pun)

I know you all must have wondered what happened to all the Christmas photos 🤔 truth is I lost them all 😔 note to self make sure your phone is backed up.

I’ve made a promise to myself I will become more active on socials as it’s so nice to share all your doggies. We have so many new faces to share!

I’m going to be doing a post on Monday as a re introduction of myself and business as I know I have some new followers 🥰

Wow! What can I say. This year has got to be one of the most amazing, yet toughest years so far. Never in a million years did I think this loud, out going girl would have her own business.

This year has taught me to be grateful for so many things and that it truly is the little things that matter. My little business has flourished in its first 8 months and that’s all thanks to my amazing customers new and old! Without you all trusting me to make your doggo’s look beautiful I wouldn’t have a business. I owe everything to you. I have shared so many laughs, tears, and tantrums and I can’t wait to see what 2025 is going to bring.

I also want to thank you for every gift, tip, or even just a thank you that has been given throughout the year. I don’t do this job for that reason I do it because I take great pleasure in making your pooches look and feel beautiful.

I’ve got some changes coming in 2025 and some exciting giveaways.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Nothing any of you do goes unnoticed.

Hey lovelies,

This is a bit of a different post from me however, I’m a firm believer in supporting other small business and giving recognition where it’s deserved. That being said this goes a little deeper than that.

I wanted to give a massive thank you! And shout out to the I came home today (funnily enough I was only in the vets this morning) 🤣 to find this.

Some of you may know sadly we lost 2 dog’s this year our beautiful boys Oscar and Rascal. The passing of both of them had a huge impact on us as a family however, it made me strive even more to make my business successful, to be able to one day look back and remember they were the reason Smart Paws even exists!

We can only thank The Guildford Vet for the care, compassion, kindness, knowledge, and so much more that they showed our dog’s and us. It’s the little touches like this that make you realise using an independent, small business is so personal and no stone goes unturned.

I guess this post is a huge thank you but also to say if you don’t use them…. USE THEM!

Episode:135……… Reggie 🐶

Oh my goodness, the excitement I felt when Reggie’s owner booked him in! 🥰 Now Reggie is a rather uncommon breed however, don’t mistake that for how beautiful and intelligent this little boy is. Reggie is a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, (Yep! You read that correctly) Reggie came today for his 1st puppy intro however, traditionally this breed is hand stripped which is what Reggie will be having done. He still had a usual puppy groom with a few adaptations because of his hand stripping future. Reggie was the true star of the show today and completely stole my heart.
