Growing up my Dad was a very keen amateur photographer. He would always be very particular about the background and make us pose endlessly.
In 1959 my mum was given a beautiful engraved glass brandy bowl. This delicate, prised possession became a centrepiece piece for the dining table or simply glistened in the sunlight of the bay window, admired but never touched - that is until dad took it and used it as a prop for his photos. It soon became a family tradition for dad to put every new family pet in the delicate brandy bowl for a photo. The brandy bowl has been host to puppies, kittens, hamsters and even a couple of ferrets!
Now I, the servant of many Burmese gremlins, have inherited the prised, 67 year old, delicate glass, family heirloom. 😱
Traditions are important so today, with my father in my heart, I photographed Purrl’s beautiful babies in the brandy bowl. 🥰(and it’s still in one piece)
