One of our colleagues had to bring their little girl Mabel in last week for some lumps to be removed, unfortunately upon running the pre op bloods there was a slight concern that there could be a sign of Cushings ๐๐
We have now sent off further tests and we are just waiting for the results, fingers crossed that little one is okay ๐๐พ
This shows why running pre operative bloods can be extremely important, they can also:
๐ฌ Check organ health โ We assess how the liver and kidneys are working. These organs process medications and anaesthetics, so itโs important theyโre functioning well.
๐ฉธ Identify hidden problems โ Conditions like infection, inflammation, anaemia, or early organ disease can sometimes be detected before surgery.
๐ Make anaesthesia safer โ If we find anything unusual, we can adjust the anaesthetic plan, medications, or fluids to better suit your pet.
๐ Create a baseline record โ The results provide useful information about your petโs health that can help us monitor changes over time.
