Just one of our candidates for PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).

We are taking bookings for PRP therapy and if this has been recommended by your primary vet please contact us on 01472 362821 so that we can discuss your options.

Everybody say hello to Dexter🐾

Dexter is one of our Registered Nurses dogs and was unfortunately experiencing some lameness in his left forelimb.

Our orthopoedic surgeon recommended that we do an arthroscopy to have a look at the joint and PRP (platelet rich plasma). Platelets contain proteins which are important in helping the healing process. Therefore, we take a large blood sample from the pet, spin this down, and then inject this into the joint capsule. This will encourage blood supply and speed up the healing process.

Dexter has recovered well and is doing fantastic at home 🥹💕

Sarah the nurse is on a dematt mission this week.

This is old man Lennie who has been struggling with his old age to keep his coat matt free. He tolerated having his matts clipped out very well and did not require any special drugs from the vets to help keep him calm. Pure bred good boy Lennie 🐈‍⬛

It’s happeningggggg 🤩🤩

The sign is up and ready 🥳 it’s really starting to feel real now. We’re getting closer and closer to the opening date!

So I have a question for you guys. Open events? What is everyone’s thoughts? It’ll be difficult for us to have an open day like we did at the shop due to space constraints. Does anyone have any ideas? Or if there are any specific events/experiences you want to see from us? Let us know:)

And again, I just want to thank you for all of your support, we wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without you guys and your unwavering support. Your excitement just makes us even more excited! Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏🏼❤️

Pole work 💡

Did you know that Charlotte can also use pole work as part of an assessment or treatment programme?

Pole work can be a great way to understand how your patient is using their limbs. Can they pick each paw up evenly? Can they navigate over the poles without touching them? Do they use all limbs evenly?

If you would like more information on how pole work could benefit your pet, please contact us on;

🦢 Ever spotted a swan with one leg tucked up on its back? No, they’re not practising yoga! 🧘‍♂️

Rescues regularly receive calls from concerned members of the public about swans with one leg up on their back, worried it might be injured or broken. But the reality? This is completely normal!

Swans do this to:
✅ Regulate body temperature - a way to cool off, like how we stick our feet out of bed when we're too warm!
✅ Rest their muscles – Just like we shift our weight while standing, this gives their legs a break.
✅ Get comfy – Sometimes, it’s simply a relaxed way to float!

So next time you see a swan striking this pose, no need to worry—it’s just enjoying a little one-legged relaxation! 🦢💙
