Mighty Pawz - Dog Walking & Pet services Hi, my name is Gillian. I was born in Greenock and have stayed in the area all my life, attending Gourock primary, Gourock High and James Watt college.

I’m a volunteer for the ALFI group which helps support people within the community learn new skills. I also coach the aged 5+ Greenock United football team which is just so much fun! Once both my two boys were old enough to go to school full time I was looking for work in the area and couldn’t find a conventional job that allowed me to be able to pick them up after school. I needed something flexi

ble. When you consider their weekly swimming lessons, Beavers/Cubs and Football Training and that I have my own volunteer work too you can see how this would be challenging to most employers. Everyone has these types of commitments I know, I just really wanted something that fitted in. I have been extremely fortunate to have had dogs around me from as far back as I can remember. I absolutely love animals and when Weight Watchers introduced me to walking I was hooked on that too! It’s funny how sometimes the most obvious job for everyone can be staring them in the face. Now that Mighty Pawz is up and running (literally) I have never looked back. It has all worked out perfectly and I feel that I’m one of the lucky ones doing exactly what I love. I got the sad news today, I used to walk Coco and this morning her owner let me know that Coco has moved on, due to lymphoma. My thoughts are with her family she was a lovely happy dog and will be missed.
