Bodie had his 1st solo sit with me last night.
I first got to know him approx 4-5years ago.
He was adolescent and really struggling with controlling his BIG feelings and anything slightly out of routine was a huge issue for him.

Thanks to his dedicated guardians for listening and taking on board the advice.

Yes he still gets very excited but his recovery time is muchly reduced.

The fact that he can relax with me while they are out, is a culmination of all the good work put in and solid foundations

*My leg went to sleep eventually 😴 🦵🤣

Hello Bonzo with big brother Loki who came for the treats lol!!

He is an adolescent male who came for a loose lead session approx 6 weeks ago.
His guardians became demotivated and even though could see improvements he still pulled.

So today was about making it FUN, not a chore!

We had off lead and on lead, slow, normal and quick walking. Rapid changes of direction. Walking over poles to get him thinking of what his feet are doing.

Ali on her penultimate session this afternoon.
We went to a new environment to walk. This was so I could see if the skills her guardians have been diligently practicing, could transfer to a new place!

Smashed it!

We won't talk about the decomposing squirrel that she thought was the best thing ever!! 🙄🤢

I am on holiday in Australia visiting my sister

Today I got very cross with a group of women in the sea.

They were wading out over the waves. Now the sea in Oz can be very rough even on 'calm' days

The dog with them was in the shallows, trying to get to them. But she was taken under everytime a wave crashed over her.

I shouted to get one of the women's attention
' Your dog is really struggling, she is going to drown'
Shrug from one of them
😡

I shouted again, really cross this time and she started to wade back to the dog

The poor dog was:

🚩Overweight
🚩Black
🚩Brachycephalic

I had to sing 'let it go' to rid myself of my rage afterwards!

Managed to fit in a late request walk with Missie this morning.
Such a pleasure to be with her 🥰

Im away until the 1st of Nov on 2 Specialist Dog Sitting roles, then pack my bags again and off I fly ✈️

Yesterday as part of Ali's programme we met up with Beech and Sara Read of Hendrix Teal Dog Boarding
Beech was acting as our stooge dog 🐕

Ali made some wonderful choices by herself and also got close enough for an 'air bum sniff '....not a scientific saying but describes it well 😀

She displayed good communication to Beech
🐾 When he looked at her she stopped and turned either her head or body to the side, showing 'not interested' signs.

Recognising when Ali needed little breaks to reset herself.
🐾 Up Down pattern game resulted in a shake off and refocus.

We will be using Beech again to build up her confidence around other dogs..... its the walking towards her that she struggles with most.
