The National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire is an animal rescue and rehoming farm. Our centre is home to both field animals and domestic pets.
Known locally as Trindledown Farm, we are also open to the public with shops and the chance to walk around an active rescue centre. Set in 10 acres on the edge of the Lambourn Downs, Trindledown Farm (NAWT's Berkshire branch) is dedicated exclusively to caring for those animals enjoying the twilight years of their lives. Elderly animals make great companions for people looking to rehome a pet and
can often suit those with the most sedentary of lifestyles. We rehome around 100 birds, cats, dogs and field animals at our Berkshire centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked and assessed before being rehomed. Please be aware that we are continuing to receive extremely high volumes of enquiries about all animals available for rehoming. With limited staffing recourse at our centres, we are only able to contact potential owners once they have been matched to an animal, which means we are not able to contact every person who completes a homing form. If you ever find yourself in the difficult position of having to rehome your pet, have you considered looking at our Home Direct scheme 🏠
That way, you can keep your pet in a home environment while we find them the perfect adopter who suits their needs, and they don't have to stay in rescue.

⭐️CAN YOU HELP FOSTER?⭐️
We have a few sighthounds under our care at the minute, such as Ozzy pictured below, that would really benefit from being in a foster home. Ozzy is a bit more nervous in nature, so we are looking for a patient and empathetic foster home, where he can feel safe, to help him come out of his shell.
If you're interested in supporting some of our medium to larger dogs while they wait for their forever families, we'd love to hear from you! Just send us an email at [email protected] or give us a call at 01488 638584 and leave a message. Thank you so much!

A big thank you to the amazing team from M & J Evans Construction 🏗 who joined us for a volunteer day last week! 🥰 They pitched in to help us put in new posts for the fences in Guinea Pig Village, as well as lending a hand with barn cleaning and restocking our honesty cafe ☕
The team was simply fantastic, and they even got to end the day cuddling some adorable kittens and meeting the lovely Peppa 💙
If your team is interested in organising a corporate volunteering day to support a local charity while enjoying some team building activities, we'd love to hear from you — get in touch today! 😄

⭐ INTRODUCING DAVEY ⭐
Hi guys, I’m Davey! A super chill, gentle Greyhound looking for a family all of my own 🥰 I am a very polite lad and walk calmly on the lead 😇 When people come to see me I don’t jump up but you can tell I’m excited because of my waggy tail! I won’t be satisfied until I’ve had a cuddle from everyone 😍
I’m a big foodie so very easy to train and love my walks! Unless it’s too hot or raining...otherwise I’m ready to wait politely for my harness to go on and get out the door 😆 I'm happy to meet and greet other dogs but small fluffy things are just too tempting to chase!
I love to snuggle up on the sofa too, I’m a leggy boy but don’t worry I’ll try and make room for you! 😂If you think you can offer me my forever home please register your interest! 💙
We just wanted to take a moment to send a big thank you to our foster carers for all the amazing work they do as our foster volunteers 💙
With this hot heatwave, we’ve been a bit worried about our current cats, since the cattery can get quite warm. But thanks to our fosterers who stepped up and responded to our calls over the past couple of weeks, we’re overjoyed to share that our cattery is now empty, and all the cats are out on foster! It’s something we’re really proud of and honestly can’t quite believe the incredible support that we have from our foster team 😍
Unfortunately, because of the heatwave and how hot our cattery is, we aren’t able to take in any new cats at the moment unless we have a foster spot ready. If you’re not currently fostering, or if you know someone who might be interested in becoming a foster with us, please encourage them to get in touch. We still have a waiting list of lovely cats waiting for their chance to be cared for 🥰
As you all know it's kitten season, and this year is proving to be one of the busiest we've had as a charity! We are calling on our wonderful supporters to donate any kitten food in order to keep these little bellies full 😊
You can donate by bringing kitten food to the centre or by using our Amazon wishlist: https://bit.ly/nawtwishlist 💙

⭐FOREVER HOME FRIDAY⭐
We are so pleased to announce more of our animals going home in the last couple weeks! Adopted was the purr-fect Polly (top left), Cassie (top right), Remi (bottom left), Lady (middle left), Tommy (middle right), Felix (bottom left) and Lottie (bottom right) 🐾
It’s heartwarming to hear how happy their new families are and to see how well everyone is settling in to their new homes! 😄 We've already received some fantastic updates and can't wait to hear more about how they are all settling in!
Last week we had another fantastic group come along for a corporate volunteering day! 🎉
The team were amazing, helping to paint our new fencing for Guinea Pig Village 🐹 and plot out where the new fence posts would go, in addition to helping clear out our fields 🧹and give them a bit of a refresh. The group absolutely smashed every job we threw at them and afterwards enjoyed playing with the kittens before heading to our large dog run for a cuddle with Peppa! 🥰
If your company would be interested in booking a corporate volunteering day, please get in contact! We have a few spaces left for bookings this year and have started taking bookings for 2026 😄

The beautiful and playful Delilah is still available and on the hunt for her forever home! 🔍Could she be the one for you? 🥹
As many of you know, in January of 2024, our centre flooded for the first time in years, which resulted in around £10,000 worth of damage 😓 Following this, we then flooded again in December last year through to May of this year.
After all the water flowing through our site for months on end, our previous agility equipment was no longer safe for the animals to use. We reached out to Marmax Products Ltd and Montala Limited for their support and were thrilled by the response we received!
If your company is interested in supporting our rescue centre—whether through a donation, sponsorship, or by joining us for a corporate volunteering day with animals—we’d love to hear from you. Contact us today to find out how you can make a difference 💙
