Results from the INDIBA still amaze me 🪄

📸 Photos taken on Day 1 and Day 8 📸

This pony came to stay for 7 nights, he had 4 INDIBA treatments (1 every other day) and this was the result 😮

Prior to coming to stay he had a full vet assessment including flexion tests which confirmed he was sound 💪 and X-ray’s which showed no boney changes 🩻 The Vet gave us the go ahead to treat the swelling - myself and his owners are thrilled with the outcome 🤩

His owner has informed me that the swelling has reduced even further since he has returned home 🏠

🦵 Annular Ligament Thickening 🦵

🪄 6 INDIBA treatments over a 3 week period prevented this pony from needing surgery 🪄

💭 The annular ligament is a fibrous band that wraps around the flexor tendons on the back of the fetlock. When this ligament is inflamed or injured, it can contribute to pain and lameness due to constricting the flexor tendons (SFDT and DDFT) and tendon sheath in the fetlock.

❤️‍🩹 A firm band at the back of the fetlock is a key characteristic of this injury (as shown in the photo) however an ultrasound should be performed for an accurate diagnosis as the flexor tendons can often be compromised

Thickening of the ligament can be caused by a trauma or frequent over stretching 🙆

✨ In this case we used the INDIBA to provide pain relief and reduce inflammation which in turn before our eyes showed reduced thickening of the band on the back of the fetlock ✨

In chronic cases the annular ligament can be cut (desmotomy) to relieve the pressure from the flexor tendons and tendon sheath. This is usually performed through very small incisions often with a camera in the tendon sheath to allow all the tendons and other structures to be assessed at the same time.

Following both the conservative and surgical methods a controlled return to work should be meticulously planned in order to build up your horse/ponies strength and fitness

🐴 I am thrilled to say this pony is doing great 👌

Treating a Superficial Digital Flexor Tendon Injury with INDIBA (Radio frequency) 🪄

This horse presented with a swelling just below the knee on the outside of the leg. The vets performed an ultrasound scan which confirmed damage to the SDFT. After 3 treatments the swelling has reduced significantly meaning the inflammation should be significantly less and hopefully the tendon is starting to heal ❤️‍🩹👌

The leg will be re scanned at 6 weeks from the original scan to assess the tendon and this should allow us to implement a rehabilitation program 💪

We often have horses sent straight to us following surgery 🏥 Many owners say this gives them peace of mind as it helps to ensure they have the best chance of making a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 We can meticulously follow any rehabilitation programs as advised by vets on their discharge notes, which some owners find hard due to work commitments!

This horse has had bilateral (both) hindlimb stifle surgery for a cruciate ligament injury and chondromalacia Following his 2 weeks initial box rest a vet has been this week to remove the stitches 🧵 (we are happy to organise and supervise vet visits)

Here at AVVP we can create a calm environment for those on box rest in our large 14x13 stables 🐴 Whilst resting we provide lots of pampering (hands of physiotherapy/massage, heat pad, massage pad, grooming), treat balls and whatever diet they require (eg ad lib dry hay or restricted soaked hay) 🩵

After another 2 weeks box rest this horse can begin controlled hand walking and have some time out in one of our grass rehab paddocks 🥰

🧡 Ollie has just enjoyed a 5 night stay with us 🧡

His owner contacted me to see if he could have a mini holiday, for a pamper and play as her livery yard unfortunately has no winter turnout

Ollie has been a client of mine for 8 years - during his stay I found his back was tighter and more sore than usual. I assessed him on the lunge which showed no lameness 👌 so I took a look over this saddle and could see that it wasn’t fitting quite right. I discussed this with his owner and she is now booked in to have this adjusted and in the meantime will work him from the ground

It’s safe to say he definitely enjoyed his mini break!!! 🎉 🕺 ✈️

Glen had been struggling with intermittent forelimb lameness for a number of weeks before being referred for an MRI Scan. The lameness was pinpointed to the right fore and an MRI of the front feet identified tendonitis (swelling/inflammation) of the deep digital flexor tendon (DDFT).

His owner has meticulously followed the specified rehab plan before sending him to us for a week

In this time he has had;
- 4 INDIBA treatments 🪄 (to help with reducing the inflammation)
- Small paddock turnout (in one of our grass rehab pens)
- Physiotherapy to treat compensatory tightness 💆‍♂️
- His feet trimmed and balanced👣
- Lots of pampering and a hot shower 🚿

Glen is now totting up well so myself and the owner have agreed he will return to the vets for a follow up assessment at this point🤞 so they can advise us on how to progress with his rehab

When Glen is set to return to rehab work it has been advised that he is shod in front with a pad/putty to protect the sole, and a slight heel wedge In order raise the heal and reduce pressure on the DDFT with the hope of preventing further issues 🙏

INDIBA on a cold morning is soooo satisfying 🪄

With this horse I am addressing chronic back and sacroiliac (SI) pain, therefore treating with a thermal (warming) affect 🔥

INDIBA has no limit to the depth it can treat therefore enables us to treat the deeper areas such as the SI.

With this horse I’m treating with the INDIBA to provide pain relief and reduce inflammation as well as helping to increase the flexibility of the muscles through his back and bottom (gluteal) muscles 💪

💙 I would like to thank every single one of my clients that has been patient and loyal whilst I’ve embraced my first year of motherhood 💙

In 2025 I’ll be back in full force 💪 I plan to do 2/3 days on the road and the rest of my work based at my yard, working on the in house patients and offering visiting clients treatments

My 2025 diary 📔 is open so please don’t hesitate to get in touch for help with rehabilitation, holiday livery, physiotherapy or INDIBA therapy appointments 📆

Last weekend we were trusted with a very special job 🥰 A first for us - but luckily I know someone that loves making a grey pony sparkle ✨🤪

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS 🥂 to the new Mr and Mrs Greenwood 🎉 we were honoured to be a part of your day. Tosh was an absolute angel 😇 and loved being centre of attention (and Theo loved the ice cream 🍦)
