What not to give them in hot weather..ice or frozen peas, they can cause burns to the oesophagus, crop and be a choking hazard, also can actually make the hens feel hotter once eaten as it can raise the core temp..

Hot weather tips..
Shade is the most important way to keep your chickens cool in the summer. A bit of shade can make a huge difference.There are various ways to do this.
- A tree
- Shrubs or climbing plants (non-toxic)
- Umbrellas
- Shade cloth
- A roof (for the run)
- A tarp
Also make sure they have plenty cool water
chilled melon and grapes are a nice treat but not too many.
Also a good dustbath.

After a few days scouring various groups most if not all the scammers seem to be on Midlands poultry page which appears to have no active admin.
I must stress not all on there are scammers as there are some legit honest poultry people on there.
Something to look for is, the poultry pages offering delivery or roadside collection tended to be scammers and would not provide a true location in the comments.
Also they seem to have images of every bird breed available and on closer inspection some had snow capped mountains, big Chevy pick up trucks and foreign roadsigns in the background and much more.
I hope this has made a few people more aware and good luck to everyone as there are plenty honest nice helpful breeders out there.
I personally am now withdrawing from this group for obvious reasons and have reported the group to Facebook.

He has been reported.

Just to clear a few things up after receiving a few messages from concerned groups and breeders.

The Scammers I have highlighted are NOT necessarily from the group I am posting in, I post in all groups to inform as many as possible.

Also most scammers do use USA terms such as homestead, Roosters and Backyard etc

However i have been informed some of the UK pages also use the same USA type terms and are perfectly legit and trustworthy.

So apologies to anyone offended and hopefully this will clear things up.

Also do your due diligence and if it doesn't feel right walk away.
