🌡️🐾 HOT WEATHER DOG SAFETY NOTICE 🐾🌡️
With a heatwave forecast across parts of the UK and temperatures continuing to rise throughout the summer, your dog’s safety and wellbeing always comes first. ❤️
During hot weather, pavements can become dangerously hot, and dogs can overheat very quickly. This can lead to heat stress or heatstroke — a serious and potentially life-threatening condition.
Certain dogs are especially vulnerable, including:🐶 Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs & Boxers🐶 Thick-coated breeds🐶 Puppies and senior dogs🐶 Dogs who are overweight or have underlying health conditions
⚠️ Signs of heat stress can include:• Excessive panting• Drooling• Lethargy or weakness• Vomiting• Collapse
To help keep all dogs safe during periods of high temperatures, walks may be temporarily shortened or changed to drop-in visits instead.
These visits may include:💧 Fresh water top-ups🧊 Cooling down and comfort checks🐾 Toilet breaks in the garden🎾 Indoor play, enrichment and plenty of fuss❤️ Welfare checks
This policy is in place during heatwaves and throughout the summer months to prioritise the health and safety of your dogs.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support during warmer weather. Keeping your pets safe will always be our top priority. 🐾🥰
